Lookes like your gonna be able to feel the rain, I hear we got a seven day streak of it...And if thats possible, why can't the other things be too? And your never going to live life wantless, its what makes us human. Like I said before, wanting gives us a goal. Ad we work towards it. Don't let the fact that it's impossible get in your way. ....except for the car, you have no chance of that. lol.

Thanks for the comment, but the whole purpose of the poem is that it is ironic and hypocritical.. That's the point.. Maybe I didn't make it clear enough. Oh well. Can't all be good, I suppose.

No, after re-reading I believe I understand. It was my mistake. I never truly did comment on it, I like it. I must say it is one of your best.

*Clappage (and a new word)* I really like it, Sorrows. I can say that I can relate. Very nice, dear.

Door & Path
Through which eyes do Men see? To which World do they usher me? A road paved with doubt and insecurity. It winds in the dark; shadow where bricks should be. It is something far less solid than stone; A path where you do not tread alone, But side-by-side to every drone; Every face the mirror of another clone.
Why should I step this way they walk? I turn aside to see a door; I knock. Only laughter responds as if to mock The vain efforts I take to unlock This path barred away from my sight, A path, I know to walk in the light. A path where few tread; no need to fight For your way along the road to right, Because you're there Right now; With me. But still, I cannot see. It's not fair. It never is.
============================================
Fair
Life's not fair, alright. Tough luck, you have no right To back down from this fight, To walk away and out of sight Of those who would see you show your might; Hold you up; Hold you tight.
Life doesn't care what fair should be. It doesn't mean nothin'; One day you'll see That it takes more than simple iniquity To stand up against this 'Destiny'; To find yourself truely free. Always believe that you can trust in me. I'll be right here By your side, So don't run and hide, There's nothing to fear.

Fair
"It's not fair." Words that burn inside me. An embrace forever scarred in my mind. I lived in that fire, An inferno that I embraced, Basking in its warmth.
Now the words are mine. "It's not fair." But, this time, you won't embrace; You're not there to hold. The fire still burns now, But it burns only me; I still live inside it, But it only tries to forget me.
But, I can't let it die, I put too much Faith in it; Too much Hope in it. I can't let it burn out. I can't forget Those three words. "It's not fair."

"Life is not fair," the man said to himself. "Relationships are not fair," said the woman to herself. "School is not fair," said the child to herself. "Nothing is fair," says I to the wild wind.

Well, as much as I appreciate the anecdote, the reason behind the words is not the literal, but the thing they represent. It's a memory I would rather not recall, but, in the passing days, have found myself unable to resist the urge to dwell on it. Probably because of Valentine's. It'll pass soon, just like it does every year.

Here's one I wrote for an assignment a while ago and came across. My style certainly has changed, but I like it for what it is.
Reason
I am reason; The Sage’s words; The hard truths; The comforting excuses; The faulty purpose.
I hold you to the ground And keep you above the sea. I keep you along your path And turn you when you flee.
I am the words that give you Hope; The scorn that takes it away. I guide your life. All along, I am just you.

Another
Drifter
Aimless steps No path follows Light is absent Darkness is absent Nothing is seen No way to go Can’t turn now Must keep walking Wander this way Or is it that? Doesn’t matter now There is no before There is no after Only now Where I stand ‘Cause that’s all I have Right here Right now Standing… At least I’m standing.

*Laughs* Another. I guess it's okay to triple post in my own works thread. Memory What lays where I walk? What show I was there? Footprints; Marks of my passing, The wind smoothes it bare. A message scratched in a tree; Words that memory recalls. Shall that be my remembrance? Alas, the scripture falls. Perhaps Nature disturbed Can tell the story of my presence. Foliage broken; Roots upturned. Not so, this forest is too dense. What record shows my life? What will regale my time spent? I don’t have enough left, This place was only leant. I leave soon from here, My ticket is already bought. If I live not in mark or sight, Then let me live on in thought. If only just a memory, Let me live in infamy. Always within your heart, At least, in part. Save room for me.

You will never be a memory to me Sorrows. Even when you leave, we will be friends and we will keep in contact. When you die, THEN worry about how you will be remembered. We are all best-friends-forever (woot BFF!) and no amount of space shall ever change that.

Once again, good job Sorrows. You are very good at putting your feelings to words. And "Memory" does a good job of capturing how people tend to worry "if" or "how" they will be remembered. *Claps* Good job!

Here's one that strays from my normal style, you can blame that on reading about Oddyseus in AP English Lit.
A Lifetime Epic
There is time yet for glory, For these worn fingers to birth Something worthy of these pages; A story of note; of pain; of joy; A tale bane to monotony. A laugh and a smile brought At the expense of words; A tear falls on forlorn pages For the truths are of a tragedy; A life to live now in infamy. So come along, my Muses, Dance along with the pen as it traces The epic of a thousand colors, Painted in the wake of a weary heart. The one true, great remembrance; A lifetime regailed in mere moments 'ere the end comes. The last breath is deep, The final bow is taken, The epic complete. The ending words wrote Upon the final blank page As the cover closes, Never to be opened again; A one time performance. The End.
