"Well, this will be something to see.." was all that the odd man said, watching the scene unfold.

Raiku's tattoo consumed face contorted as his legs carried him toward his evemy at an alarming rate. He dipped his right shoulder down, revolving halfway around into what looked like an entrance to a roll. With the flick of his wrist, and a short push from his leg, Raiku used the centrivical force of the spin to increase the impact with Magus.

The steel shaft of his scythe took the blow as he held it at arms length away from him, he himself getting knocked back several feet by the blow. This was not how he wanted things to go. He could not afford to die here. He was too close to begin trying to cast a spell, even as simple a one as teleporting away. If any chance at survival was to be had, it was, ironically, to fight this beast until such an oppurtunity presented itself. "Is it revenge then? You wish to finish what you failed to before hand? Killing me?" Magus asked as he pushed the blade away from his weapon while trying to avoid cutting off his own fingers in the process. He made a simple diagonal swing at Raiku, using the conversation to hopefully throw the man off enough to escape. I hope that the demon doesn't try anything stupid... (( feel free to do whatever you want though Silent. Magus is just the type to not want people to interfere with his life, but you are free to do as your character would in these circumstances. Not trying to keep you out of the fun!))

((I know, but Ashlyn knows that giving her position away at this time wouldn't do any good to Magus getting the answer to his question.))

"I'm no expert on the manner, but that one with the scythe down there doesn't seem to be doing very well. If you're not aiding him, then he either has some trick up his sleeve or neither of you are a match for the 'dragon' guy. In which case, why would you come after him in the first place?"

Ashlyn didn't turn her head, but it was obvouse that now was not the time to make small talk with her. "I would have attacked a long time ago, but 'the man with the scythe' wanted to find out what the 'dragon man' came back for. As soon as that is divulged, or I am absolutely needed, will I make my move. She relaxed her bow and flipped her wrist back and anothe dark arrow appeared in her palm. She took the one that had been sharppened and, with little difficulty, stuck it quietly into the tree branch belwo her. "I'll save that one for later." She explained in a whisper. "It's different then the other ones."

"Revenge?" Raiku replied as he stopped the sycthe with his blade. "Think your in a position to ask me questions?" He grunted as he attempted to force the weapon outward, but keeping a clear eye upon any spot where he himself was left open.

((Raiku, is that in the battle, or at all, like above him and stuff, or just with Magus?))

"So it is revenge then..." Magus said through gritted teeth, jumping backward and letting the blade push him. "You are here to destroy Rikimaru," the Mage stopped, stepping backwards defensively, trying to gain more ground between them.

Ashlyn pulled her arrow all the way back and closed her eyes. She muttered some words under her breath and let go of her bow completely. The bow didn't release it's arrow. instread, it floated in front of her and three more bows, almost looking like ghosts of the real one, appeared around her. She spread her arms out and the three illusion-like bows became solis looking, cocked, and went in different directions. She repeated what she had done three more times and then took the arrow from before out of the branch and cocked it alongside the other. She grabbed onto her bow and held it vertically. She muttered a few more words, carefully aiming her upper arrow directly to Raiku's head. She released the bow string and watched as twenty six arrows whizzed at Raiku in all directions, just at Raiku, thirteen sharper ones to his head and thirteen regular ones to his heart.

"Rikimaru...doesn't ring a bell." He said, keeping a firm grip on his blade. After completing his sentence, he sensed a great force coming at him from the tree-line. "Deja Vu." He said, teleporting a several yards away from Magus with a black explosion of dust. Already he was muttering an incantation, and one by the one the arrows were consumed in what look like a black fog. Slowly, their numbers slowed to a stop, simply hovering. His power could only control so many objects at once, and slowing those arrows down took more energy than he had thought.
With a grunt, he sent the arrows outward. Not nearly as fast as they were sent, but with significant damage-dealing capability nonetheless. However...he missed one. One of the sharpest arrows struck right above his brow. Traveling directly through one end and out the other. His eyes looked surprised at first. How could he have missed one?
"Going to take more than that to finish me off." He yelled, unaware of the archers position, but hoping an arrow would strike his new foe.

Ashlyn frowned on the inside, not happy that she woud be hurting someone. But her revenge for Aigis was sufficed. She also felt relief for getting this powerful man off of magus for the time that she could. She ducked low as an arrow whized past her and the odd man beside her, then made some more hand motions. The arrow in Raiku's head snapped so that it was inextractible. She let the back fall to the ground. Just the head of her dark arrow remained. She flipped it around and thrust it into his eye. She definatly did not want to kill this man, but blinding him, if possible, would evidently be the best for Magus and all the people back at the tavern.

Dimitri watched the tense scene unfold, thanking any deity that would listen that he'd bought that medallion that prevented his life force from being detected through magical means. He hoped the tiny amount of magic he was using to bend light around himself (save a very small amount that was routed to his eyes, which wasn't reflected back anyhow, just bent back around him.
The show of force that the Sword weilding mage was displaying was very impressive. He hoped to stay unnoticed, though at teh moment he was rather hopelessly lost. He neeeded to find Jaryd. The fool was the target of another manhunt and was scourign this region of the country. Not that Dimitri would feel any remorse if they caught him. Served him right for stealing a shipment of silver meant for bladesmiths who specialized in anti vampire weapons. Those bars were magically tracked and that idiot Jaryd hadn't even bothered sell them through a third party. Now his name and face were being spread across the land. Again. But Dimitri needed the money that Jaryd would pay.
He sighed aloud.. then nearly cursed aloud as he'd forgotten he was only a few yards away from a pair of battling magic users.. magic users who ciould probably kill him in less time than it would take to sneeze.
Dimitri waited tensely, hoping no one had heard.

Ashlyn looked down at the bushes to the side of the tree, hearing a sigh. She grinned, as an onlooker would think, to herself. "You'd best keep banding that light around you, or you'd be the most noticable thing here." She whispered down to him.

It would seem that he would be unable to siphon anymore inofrmation out of the monster now... It was time to make hasty retreat... better part of valor and all that. He flew four inches off the ground at high speeds toward Raiku and his newfound target. When she was in sight, and he had a clear line, he paused and waved a hand in the air as a little pink flash lit in his palm, vanishing as soon as it had appeared, no brighter than a candlelight. He gazed darkly at Ashlyn and pointed straight at her.. as the spell required him to. In her head she heard Retreat. He couldn't waste any more magic on her than that, he had to conserve his power if he was to cover her exit... A noble effort, and she certainly seemed to be formidable, but he was of the patronizing sort, and didn't feel that it was her time to die yet. At least he couldnt't hear the black wind howling for her...
He did have to get Raiku's attention though... "Infera aura coni..." he bgan chanting, moving his arms symmetrically in a specific set of gestures.
