"She's capable, to be certain. Not a person I'd trust my life with..." a thought crossed his mind, causing him to smirk. "I wonder what she plans to do with it..."
"Don't bother, it can't be done," Aramil responded, looking up at an unruly bang.

"That would be a most wise decision on your part. I haven't yet decided what I want to do with you." Perin detached herself from the shadow of a tree a few feet ahead. "It is relatively clear up ahead. A bit unsettling really." The small woman looked at Dark. "Where is it we are exactly? Should we not have run into some fun yet? By blades thirst and my mind bores of such...soothing scenery."

Dark shrugged. "You were the one who drove us in here in the first place, remember? At least, you were the reason I had us go in here." She did something she'd never done before in front of the others - she tilted her head suddenly just enough to crack her neck, then tossed her raven locks this way and that making her neck loose and relaxed once more before she spoke again. "This forest is a very old one. They were the home of Wood elves and dryads many thousands of years ago... the only place that the two races ever lived in together, actually. But the humans came from across the ocean and wanted the trees for their own use, and when the races refused, the humans began to run them out and slaughter them. The forest is said to be haunted... and I suppose the rumors are correct, since we've already met a spirit. However, I knew that young man, and he wouldn't have chosen to stay in this world to torment others. Our village wasn't even in these woods."
Naburine's ears perked up slightly. It sounded like Dark was ready to tell them more about that thing they saw last night. She wasn't too thrilled about the haunted thing, though. One spirit was bad enough.

The pale man glanced at Perin, as if he was going to speak, but offered a smirk instead. His attention switched to Dark when she began her cryptic history lesson. "Spirits... What keeps a soul tied to this existance is difficult to understand." Magus sliced his hand through the air as they walked, his scythe appearing in his hand with a slash of blue light, the suddenness of which caused Aramil to flinch. The grim spellcaster used it as a walking stick as they tread along.
"So is this forest evil then..?" Aramil asked.

"Just because it's haunted doesn't make it evil, dear." She turned to Magus. "I've heard, in my many years of living, thousands of reasons. The one that I keep hearing, however, is that the dead actually get to choose. I don't have any idea why they'd choose to stay here... I didn't think anyone could ever be that vindictive." Her brow furrowed. "I KNOW that some black magic can MAKE a soul come back, though...."

Perin rolled her eyes as Dark scolded her and half listened to what was being said, keeping her ears alert for anything sounding out of the ordinary. Her lip twitched at the mention of Dryads. "Silly, stupid creatures." she murmered under her breath. "If this place is supposedly haunted I would like to see more vengeful spirits. It has been a while since I've cut down the undead. Never battled a ghost before. I suppose it must be similar to fighting shadows though."

"So eager to spill blood, be careful what you wish for," Magus told the halfling, although his tone sounded almost as if he admired the trait about her.
A rustling in the bushes caught Aramil's attention, but a moment after he saw it the movement ceased. "Why haven't we seen many animals around yet..? It's so quiet in this place..."
