Dark was watching Aramil's face warily. She had said something else to him, but he hadn't seemed to have heard her. And now, the distant look in his eyes... the confusion... She would really have to start watching him. She walked over to Magus at the same time Shivelle did, ready to help with the fire.
Naburine was just finishing with the tents. Firebird was on the forest floor by now, extremely thankful for the oppurtunity to rest. Naburine looked up when Magus came into view. "Hey, you did not happen to see any streams or anything, did you? The water we have is certainly not enough for Firebird, and he's thirsty."

"I didn't see any, but I thought I heard the sound of a river a little further on," replied Magus, handing the logs to Dark, the heavier ones to Shivelle. The vampiress had the strength that the wizard woman lacked, and in her previous state he didn't want to let her exhaust herself again. Perhaps that's too patronizing. Aramil stirred from his silent reverie, looking around and remembering where he was. "River might be nice... I hope we go by an elven town. I've never seen one before," he remarked absently, watching the firewood get distributed. He glanced at Naburine and Perin, then back to the other three. "Do you think there will be any along the way Dark?"

Naburine thanked Magus (something that nobody thought was possible) and got Firebird to reluctantly get up. She began to lead him into the forest before stopping and turning slightly. "Does anyone wanna come with me? I don't think we want anyone alone in these woods."
Dark had just placed the logs near the fire-pit that Shivelle had been making when Magus was away when Aramil asked the question. She stiffened as she stood up and then slowly turned to him. There was a look of near-anger on her face, but she wasn't angry at Aramil. She tried to smile at him, but it ended up being more of a grimace. "I don't know if the Wood Elves have moved around, but this forest hasn't held any villages for centuries. If we did, in fact, pass one, it would be a surprise to me."
Shivelle, who was behind Dark, shook her head slowly at Aramil, cautioning him not to ask why Dark was so upset. She figured that the sorceress would explain when she talked to them about the ghost of the Wood Elf that they saw that morning. The vampiress then looked around at the others, to see if they would answer Naburine's invitation. If they didn't, she would.

"We've stayed here too long," remarked Magus come sunrise. The only indication about the time of day came from the beams of light that pierced the thick crowns of the ancient woods. Aramil hadn't woken up yet. The stoic mage turned his gaze to the rest of the camp, particularly in Dark's direction to see if she was awake.

The silent halfling looked up into the trees. She hadn't felt any pressing need to speak to these people. Truly she idly wished she was back home in her corrupt cities where people were at one with their natural evil. Everyone was not to be trusted and had their own agenda.
Perin glanced at the rest of the party from her 'bed'. Magus was correct in that they needed to get moving soon. She felt tense and uneasy with the lack of threat they had encountered for the past little while. If that had indeed been a ghost then surely there would be more undead lurking about that she could sink her blades into.
The silver haired woman got up from the ground and dusted off her cloak. She frowned at the group and sneered at them in disgust. "If we are going to go we'd best hurry it up."

Aramil stirred, murmuring something. Even still he wasn't used to so much travel... With a yawn, he sat up and stretched his arms, a mess of blonde hair going every which way so that his head resebled a yellow thistle. "But it's still dark," he protested groggily.

"I don't care if your tired, I don't care if it's dark, I don't even care if your dead. Get up and start moving. We could get attacked at any moment so stop complaining!" Perin hissed at Aramil as she resisted the urge to smack him around. The small woman frowned fiercely and stalked away silently, scouting ahead.

((Ummm... okay, so I suppose we'll jump over the explanation and save it for another time... we'll say she was still not willing to talk and wanted everyone rested... yeah...))
Dark was awake. She'd not slept much at all. She watched the woman stalk away with a disgusted look on her face. She still wasn't sure what Perin was doing with them, anyway. She got up gracefully and moved over to Naburine, who had been awake for some time as well. "I suppose we ought to get Firebird watered before we go. I'll go with you to do that, since you're right about people being alone here is a bad idea." She looked over her shoulder to Magus. "I know you hate it when I give you things to do, but would you mind waking Shivelle? She doesn't mind it much when you're the one to wake her. Her body is still getting used to sleeping at night, and she didn't fall asleep until three hours ago..."

A stern nod signalled the mage's obedience. While Aramil scrambled to get dressed and ready for travel again, Magus strode over to Shivelle's sleeping area. As he drew nearer, his feet drifted slightly off the ground, no longer making the crunching noise of dry underbrush beneath bootheels. As he entered the tent, he gazed at her for a moment. A weary sleep. He gazed at her graceful form for a moment, but not inappropriately so. Floating gently over to her, he knelt down beside her, resting a gloved hand upon her shoulder. "It is daybreak," was all he said. (( sorry, i hadn't scrolled back, but i just wanted to get it moving again. We can have them discuss it as they go, or wait until another campsite. Dark's weariness is a good explanation for why she didn't go through with it that night. ))

Shivelle made a very strange hissing noise, but she didn't lash out. Instead, her eyes opened (not even bothering to flutter) and she looked at Magus. When she saw him, she actually smiled, though faintly. "Daybreak. Already. I'm not very good at all this human stuff yet." She got up, not needing to stretch, and slipped on her boots. She slept in her clothing, though it was probably very uncomfortable. "Alright, then." She brushed her fingers through her silky hair and then went outside with the mage.
Dark and Naburine returned with Firebird not too long afterward. "Is everyone ready to go?" Naburine asked. "Miss silver-hair will probably be very upset if we don't move soon."

"She's very upset already," murmured Aramil. His hair was still a mess, although he was trying to fix it currently, but apart from that everything else was already packed and ready to go. He had his staff leaning against his shoulder while he was trying to tame the bedhead monster.
[Travel status:] [Aramil: Ready!] [Magus: Ready]

[Dark: Ready!] [Naburine and her horsie: Ready!] [Shivelle: Ready!]
"Well, then I suppose we shouldn't keep her waiting, then." Naburine took Firebird's reigns and led him forward with Dark keeping pace. Shivelle fell in step beside them and the company was off, camp having been taken down quickly and packed onto Firebird's back again.
Dark chuckled slightly at the elf boy. "Would you like help with that rat's nest, Aramil?"

"Where?" the elf peered around precariously at the ground as they moved. The last thing he wantd to step in was a rat's nest.
Magus glanced to Shivelle, keeping an eye on her abilityto travel while being fatigued as she was... "The halfling's unusually quick for one of her kind..."

Dark laughed at the little boy. "Your hair, honey."
Shivelle stretched slightly and yawned, her fangs showing slightly when she did. "I suppose she does... but I've come to decide that it's not a good idea to underestimate that woman, no matter how small she is."
