The sorceress continued to sit. She did not like this priss. Why was she even with them anyway? Why wasn't she off doing something else? It was obvious she did not particularly like anyone, and nobody was very partial to her, either. This is stupid. Dark kept massaging her temples. That chit did not understand. Nor did she care. Dark had met too many people like her in her very long life, and she never cared for any of them.

"Fugitives already, we sure are taking the hard road aren't we?" Magus mused quietly, peering at the tramped down earth where the mob was recently. "What's a fugitive?" Aramil asked, perplexed. The word sounded oddly familiar... Magus kept himself from saying something at Perin's expense.. as much as it was fun to provoke the rogue while she was awake, she did seem the type to slit throats in the dead of night...

"Well, are you comming or not? If youare not then I would like to be paid for the amount of time that I have been with this...group." Perin sneered as she whipped around. "I would suggest not standing idle too long. I doubt your prey will be doing the same." Truely she was getting irritated very quickly. If you wanted to track 'evil' you should probably use 'evil' to do it. If you didn't like the way it worked then too bad. Go at it on your own.

Dark got extremely close to cussing, but she held her tongue with an extreme amount of control. "I know full well that our enemy would not be resting. And if you mean it, I will pay you right now and you can be on your way."
Naburine grinned beneath her mask as she stroked Firebird's black coat. This was interesting. "A fugitive is someone who's in trouble who is running away from that trouble," she said in answer to Aramil's question.

Perin's eyes narrowed at the elf. She could feel the aura of anger rolling off the sorceress and let off a bit of her own, letting her blood lust accent it. "Well then, perhaps you should. I don't much care for the way you goody goodies do things around here. I'm so sorry that I am practically the epitome of evil next to you. Truly, it is breaking my heart. If you have decided that you have no need of me then go ahead and pay me now. But you little item of power has intrigued me. So by paying me off now you will just be pitting the odds even more against you. I am fairly sure I will have an easier time following him than you. I think like him. I wont have a bunch of burdens to weigh me down." She glanced at the rest of the group to emphasize her point before returning her gaze to Dark. She held out her hand and smirked. "So go ahead, pay me now. Maybe if you're generous I'll leave you a...trail to follow."

Dark's eyes snapped open, she stood up, and she raised her hand at Perin (which was not too far of a point to raise it to) all in one motion, a terrible anger about to be set loose.
"MISTRESS DARK!" Shivelle nearly screamed.
Dark, realizing what was going on, relaxed and let her hand down, also letting the will power she had unconsciously raised in her anger drain. She thought of quite a few things to say, but anything that came from her mouth would gain a smart remark from the halfling. So she glared at the woman, keeping her fury in check and her comments inside. Suddenly she turned curtly and began to stalk away in the direction they had started toward in the first place.
Naburine looked around with a raised eyebrow and then pulled gently on Firebird's reigns, following Dark.

The halfling smirked and looked down at the ground as she shook her head. "It's almost too easy." She muttered. She followed after the sorceress and slowly untensed her muscles. She had gone tight as a wound up spring when she had noticed the signs of attack. She was almost dissapointed that the vampiress had stepped in. She was sure it would have been an interesting fight.

Aramil took a step back as Dark raised her voice.. or would have were he not clinging to Naburine. His heart jumped in his chest, never having seen her this angry before. It was frightening. Shivelle shouting didn't help either.
As Shivelle shouted, Magus took her wrist tightly, as if he expected her to go charging forward and wanted to prevent it. Aside from that quick movement, he did not move a centimeter, still as a statue with his eyes on Perin.
Aramil too had his eyes glued on the halfling, both out of anger and fear. Leaning toward fear... gone was the false bravado of youth.

Shivelle looked at Magus, then down at his hand around her wrist. She did not look particularly happy about it. She then glanced back up at him, waiting for him to let go of her. She had just brought Dark back into the real world. She was not going to attack anyone. She was not an animal... She was NOT an animal.
Naburine held onto the elf boy's hand as they walked, keeping silent and storing away the fight for later use in conversation.

Magus loosened his grip, peering at Shivelle. She seemed a bit preturbed for some reason... "We should move again, let's not stay here any longer than necessary," he remarked to the rest, making sure everyone else was again moving before he would bring up the rear.
Aramil had the feeling that there was something very dark and vile about that halfling, but for some reason he didn't hate her for it. He paused for a moment when they were ahead of him, and cast a simple detect magic spell, to see if something was off. Of course, Dark and Magus nearly drowned out anything else, glowing like beacons.
(( just let me know if there's anything abnormally magical. Obviously the spellcasters glow like beacons, but mundane things like a magic weapon or magic potions or the like would glow mildly, scrolls, or enchantments placed around an area will give off a slight hue. Oh, and the oter characters wont notice the glow, which i think Dark picked up on. I dont mean to blind the party or give away our position. ))

Naburine watched the little elf boy when he had let go of her hand and moved back, and she grinned as his face became concentrated. It was not often she saw the kid concentrate about anything. Obviously, he was trying a spell. Sometimes Naburine wished she knew the ways of magic... The ninja girl turned her face forward again, her other hand still wrapped about Firebird's reigns as she led him, near the rear of the pack.
Dark was silent, but at least she was moving again. The anger had seemed to restore her strength as their party moved through the wood.
Shivelle walked slightly ahead of Magus, keeping to herself. It would be awkward to say anything at a moment this tense.

(( kay.. well.. if there's anything notable that Aramil should have detected, whisper it to me.. otherwise.. moving on. ))
After a while of travel, and a mite of paranoia, Aramil groaned. They had been going on at a decent pace for a while with nothing to do, no one speaking. Simply awkward silence and the plodding of horse hooves. He sighed and looked around at the scenery for hopes of another exciting event. Maybe a faerie sighting.. or another cat monster.. or a walrus with a top hat. Anything but this tense silence. He peered again at Perin, seeing she hadn't ran off yet on her own. Magus was silently walking alongside Shivelle, who seemed to be occasionally sneaking glances at him. He had to do something or else this would kill him..and so he complained. "I'm hungry..." he remarked grumpily.
(( not sure of the setting now that they've travelled again, so refresh me if you could).

((They're in a forest right now. It's not very dense, but dense enough that you'd have to search for someone in order to find them.))
Naburine grinned beneath her mask and reached fell back to her horse's side to one of the saddlebags. She pulled out a piece of dried meat and some cheese, handing them to the boy. "Here, kid. Can't expect me to indulge you every time, though... we don't know how long we'll be needing the food."

"I should have taken some breakfast back at that Inn..." H remarked, then thanked Naburine for the rations. "So.. Do you know where we're going now Dark? I've never been this far into the woods..." Magus peered at Dark, seeing the resolve in her steps and the unwavering gaze ahead. She seemed to be thinking, but she didn't seem to be lost. "We have to worry about losing our way," he said quietly. He stole a glance at the halfling. She had been disturbingly silent as well. Silence was a bad thing when it came to thieves, assassins, and any other type of cold-hearted killer.

"I only know that we're following a trail." The elf woman's voice was not as gentle and calm as it normally was, but she was not snapping anymore. "I picked up an odd aura a while back after our... little difficulty back there. I can't feel the Pale'nea still, but this aura is something... something stragely familiar." She half turned to look at Aramil. Her blue eyes were slightly clouded, as if she were struggling with some inner turmoil. "The problelm is, I cannot figure out exactly why it is familiar." She looked at Shivelle suddenly. "Have you found any different scent?"
Shivelle looked slightly abashed. "Uh... well, I have been a bit preoccupied... but now that you mention it, I do smell something different. I could probably pinpoint it if I were in my true form, but I really don't want to do that again." Her red eyes closed as she stopped and slowly breathed in. When she opened them again, they were filled with a befuddled look. "It smells sweet... too sweet. I don't know what it is in this form... but it is not right, whatever it is."
