(( Sorry Deliverance, this in the interest of the story. ))
Angelus made a terrible mistake of using his mind to see Ivan.
Ivan knew that Angelus was extremely prideful, boasting in his own strength and skill that he did not notice in the slightest that Ivan was manipulating his very thoughts.
For Angelus thought too highly of himself, which made his sub conscience all the more vulnerable.
Ivan did not boast of his own strength's for this very reason, lest he should become prideful as well. For Ivan watched himself in all things, that he might be in good standings with himself and his God, for he was a God fearing man.
Angelus was blinded by his pride and consumed by the lusts of his heart for power and glory.
Thus Angelus's demise was in the making by his own hand. For he was a lost soul, and the devil had dominion over his heart, and with fear was he made powerful in the eyes of man.
As Angelus twirled his blades at Ivan, all of the sudden his neck was pierced in the back of the neck by a 3 foot long sword, the exact same sword which Ivan held in his hand. You could hear Angelus's spine crack.
It then became clear that Ivan was not standing in Angelus's path of attack at all, but it was the illusion that Ivan had created in his mind.
Ivan grabbed the hair of Angelus's head and pulled his head back that he might speak in his ear as he was dying.
"I will never be one of you again."
Ivan pulled his sword from out of Angelus's neck, swung his blade and smote off the head of Angelus... Ivan kicked the headless corpse and it went rolling down the hill.
The remaining solders saw that their great leader had been taken by the sword of Ivan, and became exceedingly fearful... Their plan had not worked. The solders ran in every direction fleeing from the seen.
Ivan's eyes ceased to glow and went back to their original form.
Ivan began to grieve in his heart, for his past was about to become present once more... He thought these men would leave him alone after he turned his back on their dark ways.
There was a mark upon Angelus's neck as well as his men,
it was an image of a sword about a half an inch long, with a serpent wrapped around the blade with a red eye upon the hilt of the handle.
That same mark was also upon Ivan's neck located at the right side under his chin...
This was all a set up, a trap, meant for Ivan.
Why? Ivan knew not... But it appears that someone had not completely forgotten about Ivan.
This mystery will reveal itself in due time...
(( The END!!!....Of the beginning.))
