I'm a big fan of cowboys and westerns, and Clint Eastwood's pretty much engraved his name in he genre. The other year I learned that Eastwood actually directs and still acts, a fact I didn't know prior to. I thought he'd just faded away. After watching "The Unforgiven," one of his famous movies, and a diehard western that capitulates all his feelings about the genre in general, I became a fan of his art as well. Now, Gran Torino looks odd, the trailers didn't give a whole lot to go on aside from this old man who used to kill people defending some korean neighborhood from gangs... But critics sem to think it's good, and are praising it for its intellectual quality... Being forced to understand the depth of Eastwood's movies in that English Class Dark and I took, I have a respect for his work, and don't doubt that the critics are being just, so I'm looking forward to seeing it. Anyone seen it yet? if so, Don't tell me about what goes on in it, but how did you like it? Do you think the critics were just, or overpraising it? This is mainly aimed at Detrevni I think, because i's got an R rating, and I don't think it's Thistle's kind of movie.
