Sam was thrilled to be one of the first boys picked ( he was usually picked last in games with other boys, so this was quite an accomplishment.)

"Better not screw it up..." Anarys told/threatened, giving same a judging gaze. "Right... We still need one more..." Nary looked around at the others, unable to decide which to choose.

Not many were left from the group to pick. Raiku figured that they could each have one more player. It was up to Nary...
(PLease God post, this will get incredibly interesting very soon, if you do not post, you'll miss out...)

Nary chose his team, and then the game started. The smug elven boy showed his athletic prowess to the others by snatching the ''oddball'' from an opponent running headlong toward him, then slid under the arch of their legs and through. He was an endurance runner however, not a sprinter, and was soon caught.

It was the small and agile Traent who had caught him, taking him out by sweeping a kick under one of his ankles as it fell in stride. It should send Nary into a tumble forward, unless he could keep his feet.

Raiku climbed on top of the closest stump. He jumped repeatadly up and down waving his arms about. "I'm open Traent!" He yelled.

Arthur Hootenhagen was minding his own business in his tavern close to Lothlorien. When his tavern door flung open, and revealed several men dressed in black robes. Two of the men walked in, and revealed their weapons. One pointed it at Arthur, the other man paced around the room, keeping all who where inside, inside. The man who pointed the blade at Arthur said, "Where is Lothlorien? Speak now..." It was a very dark voice. Arthur could not make out the face of the man, since the cloak shielded his face from the world. As Arthur was about to answer he caught a glimpse of the second man grabbing a map off of the wall. The man with the map made a motion to the man outside of the Inn. Who took lantern and lit the Inn aflame. "No!" Arthur said. It was to late, the men knew thier destination, and the Inn was no longer useful to them. The men stormed out of the Inn as it caught fire and blocked the door. The three men got on thier horses and rode off towards Lothlorien, completly ignoring the screams of the people still inside the Inn.

Traent recovered the 'oddball' from where it had fallen from the other boy. As quickly as he had snatched it, he tossed it to his side at Raiku. While it was still in the air, he darted off to one side and disappeared in the foilage once again.

Nary laughed and intercepted the flying ball with a quick and basic dive, no fancy flips or recoveries. Flourishes look nice, but don't help gameplay when it counts. He landed on his knees and rolled forward onto his feet again, taking off quickly to avoid being tackled.

Traent had disappeared for the moment. Unbenounced to the others, he had been drawn off by the feeling that something was wrong.. But what?

Raiku ran towards Nary as fast as he could. It was games like this that made him feel truly alive. Using all his childish energy...

At the small outpost outside of Lothlorien. A watch tower was on fire, with several corpses surrounding it...

Nary laughed as he saw Raiku coming toward him, and turned around 180ยบ, charging Raiku at top speed as well in a deadly game of chicken... A gleam in Nary's eyes showed that he had no intent of stopping.
"LOOK!" shouted another boy in the crowd of players who had lng since tuckered themselves out and joined the sidelines. "A FIRE!" This grabbed Anary's attention. He stood up, lifting the headband from his eyes and using a hand to block out the sun. He scowled when he saw the rising black smoke a good dways away from the village.
Suddenly he met Raiku as the boy collided with him, Nary forgot to pay attention. "GEt off of me! Look!" he shouted, pointing to the smoke.
(enter town official.. *grin*)

Raiku tossed Nary off of him. He rolled over and lifted himself off the ground. He put his hand to his forehead, trying to see into the distance...that WAS smoke.
A man ran up to the group of children proclaiming, "Children! We must escape! We- the man was clearly hysterical about the whole event. Raiku heard a "fwump!" noise and stared at the arrow in the mans chest. He collapsed, dead in an instant.

Nary looked at the arrow.. the shaft was sticking out from the front of his chest, which meant the shooter had come from behind them. Anarys turned, seeing an elf peacekeeper from Loth'lorien putting his bow away. "Come with me, we have to return to the city, NOW." he shouted authoritivly. Anarys didn't know what to think.. go with a man who had just killed another.. But the thought of what was behind the smoke scared him even more. What did the shot man see that scared him so much?
Dropping the Oddball, he stood. "Game's over, let's go home."

Traent was near the smoke, hiding low in the foilage. A blood-drenched headband was clutched in his fist, which quivered with the intensity matched in his eyes. Senseless. He turned with the trinket and started off silently through the woods back towards the others.

Being on the sidelines and watching all that had transpired, his attention had been drawn to the smoke in the sky. Arching his brow silently, he put his hands in his pockets and soon followed after the boys. While walking along with them, however, he began hearing a strange noise. At first it sounded like mice were being tortured, but after a small amount of time, it had become clear that they were screams. Leaping up into the trees, he sped off towards the smoke, hoping to find the source of the screams.
