A girl with somber gold eyes gazed at the roving band as they faded away down the road, off to who knows where. whatever it was, it didn't interest her. The silver-haired little girl was far too tired to continue any more travels today. This little village would do fine. Her big black leather boots clopped down the little dirt roads as she toured the little hamlet. She was dressed with black woolen clothing, and a gray leather cloak, worn with rainspots and torn at the edges. She wore the hood of her cloak up, which had an ornate deer-skull or something attatched to it. Certainly an unusual and rather grim fashion statement. She smiled wanly however as she peered around the Bazaar, ignoring the strange looks from the villagers. The apple cart appealed to her as she leaned on tip-toes to get a closer look at the wares, only to be shooed off by a woman behind the stand. Drankly, she was scaring off alot of her customers, and the woman herself for that matter.
Gimblefyre buzzed around through the bazaar swiftly, looping between stalls hither and thither, until he spotted the barking of an old tired hag who often overpriced her fruitly goodies. swooping in closer, he sat upon a lantern-post, unlit due to the sun being out, and watched a silver-haired little girl get ushered away from the food-monger. "Tha's a bit unusual, a rather ghastly 'at tha' one 'as... " muttered the sprite to no one in particular. "Ah well, since the rest are oota toon I'd better greet the ickle lass," Gimblefyre remarked boldly, fluttering down to the spurned youth. "Oy greetin's there," shouted the orange-skinned little fae with a grin before being batted away by the girl with a shriek. She flailed around, then looked at where the little thing had buzzed to. Gimble climbed out of a nearby bucket, angrily cursing his head off. "What's the big idea ye bigg'n soy-stealing shipfleecer?!" was one of his more tame expressions. She knelt down, poking a finger at Gimble, consequently knocking him back in the bucket. "What are you...?" she asked curiously, though her eyes looked disinterested. She always looked rather glum... "Quit that!" roared the fae as he stood and grabbed her finger, stopping it from assailing him again. "ah try ta be the gentleman an' greetchye, so why'd ye go an' throttle me with yer walkin' sti-.. Hey, is tha' real bone?" He gazed inquisitivly at her walking stick she carried, which seemed to be made of several bones stuck and strung together, with an animal skull on top, a small purple gem in it's jaw. She looked at her own staff, then nodded. "Sorry.. I was afraid you were a stirge or a direfly... So you are fae, I didn't know they lived this close to cities, or in them.. you're kinda funny looking you know.." she said in a bland, monotone voice with a smile. Gimble puffed up with annoyment. "At least I'm no' a walkin' cemetry for critters, noo come oota here, yer makin' a commotion!" gimble remarked, pointing to the surrounding citizens, many of whom were watching the spectacle. She nodded, and Gimble led her to the road again, to a less-populated part of the village. "Oo are ye?" he asked. "A lady would know her inquisitor, lest she divulge too much to unfriendly ears," she replied straight-facedly. Gimble blinked, not getting it. "I'm gimblefyre, now 'oo are you?" he repeated, not happy about having to do so. "Marlene Blancheforte, pleasure to make your aquaintance," she replied with a well-disciplined curtsy. Gimble looked rather skeptical...

Thistle was tired. She had just gotten back from her breif little excersion with the adventuring group when she decided it would be better if she was at home to take care of things in Dark's stead. The redhead passed by the bazaar and noticed someone strange. Well, two strange someones. One was Gimblefyre and the other one she knew nothing about.
"What's going on here?" The pixie inquired flitting over to join the two. "Do we have a new visitor?"

"'Purintly so," came an annoyed squeak of a voice. Sugarplum appeared, Helga in hand as usual. Sugar was stuck to the fae's face... she had obviously been snitching as the bazaar was going on. "An' she ain't verri friendly-like, neither. I dun like 'er; she be swattin at Gimbily as ifin he was a sorta monster."

"There are more of you?" she asked Gimblefyre, as if completely unafraid of the sudden fae swarm. "Ach, Dunna throw my kind in with their lot.. They're fairies I think.. well.. the reddy head one is only 'alf.. but the teency one wi' tha silver 'elga is," Gimble replied, seeming to calm doon a bit.
"It is a pleasure to meet your.. I mean.. Make your aquaintance, she said quietly and politely, again giving a very practiced, but incorrect curtsy. "I am Marlene Blanchefort.. May I have the honor of knowing your names?" she asked the fae in her low, tired sounding voice.

Sugarplum raised an eyebrow, but after a bit of a pause, she said, "I be Sugarplum. Can I 'elp ya find somethin'?"

Thistle looked the girl up and down. She's a weird one alright. "Very well. I am Thistle Poisonberry. Mayor of this town. So I better not be hearing any complaints or I will have to give out some punishments." She said this to Marlene while looking at Gimblefyre and Sugarplum. "Unless of course I'm in on it."

"You're the mayor?" she repeated in a tone of stark disbelief. Forgetting formalities, Marlene loomed in closer to get a better look at the fiery little pixie halfbreed.
"Aye, ah know tha' she dunnae 'ave the top 'at fer the job, bu' noo one else in the town wanted t'take the job from 'er... Or.. nooo one's askied yet..." Gimble replied thoughtfully.. sort of. Oddly enough by the end of his answer he seemed more confused than Marlene.
"Are you the senator?" She asked Sugarplum calmly. "And I'm hungry... and am looking for a good place to have a picnic and read... Do you know any books in the area? I know it's not a large city.. So I don't expect much.. " she lowered her skull-adorned hood, letting her dull-gray hair fall out around to just below her shoulders.

Thistle glared at Gimble and huffed. "It's because no one wants to take on the challenge of making a top hat that fits me." She turned her attention back to Marlene and listened to what she wanted.
"Well, the Tavern would be the best place to look for food and chatter and entertainment. Books...who has books here? Oh! I know! Dark has lots of books! We could go to her house and borrow some of them." The pixie looked quite pleased with herself for thinking of such an ingenious plan. Of course Dark wasn't in town at the moment...but what she didn't know wouldn't hurt her.

"I see, i suppose that would be a good idea," she said blandly, looking up at the sky, as if something suddenly interesting had happened up there.. though Gimblefyre confirmed that there was nothing unusual about the sky. She was just staring off into space. She lowered her gaze back to earth, and nodded. "Alright then."

Sugarplum looked slightly upset at the idea of welcoming this freakish girl, but she grunted and flew off in the direction of the tavern, looking over her shoulder as if to say, "well, are you coming?"

(( Oh, you know that "Thistle" ( the person not the character) like character with the blue hair from that anime that talks about the proper way to eat a cream puff? The way her eyes are almost always only half open.. That's the thing that this character has. ))
She looked around herself, making sure nothing was loose, dropped, or going to catch on anything around her, then followed the little fairy, walking rather regally and delicately for a dirty tattered traveller.

As they arrived at the Tavern, MArlene looked around. It was alright for a tavern, certainly bigger than any she'd ever seen ever, but looking inside it didn't seem rich and fancy, just.. homey. "This place is very weird... Senator, who owns this place?" She asked Sugarplum curiously. "I want to ask if they have any chocolate."

Sugarplum's face lit up and she made herself look very proud, standing up perfectly straight in the air, her right arm regally held up by her chest, her left holding Helga like a sceptre, and her feet daitily crossed. "Weel, I ken tha' we've go' the choc-o-lats. I dinna own this place," she added, her pink-haired head drooping a bit in embarrassment. "A wummun wi' pointy ears does... bu' she isna here."
