"Fair enough." Perin said indifferently examining the spintered wood on the floor. "I'm a fair dancer in my own right." She smirked at the big man. "Are you sure you want to come along? There is always room in the formation but it seems it's going to be a bit intricut, and you dont seem to be so light on your feet." She taunted lightly.

"I never said I wasn't going, but things have changed too quick for my liking," he replied with notable annoyance at the little spear-user's arrogance. "I don't take well to being spoken to like that either boy, use a professional attitude and I'll behave professionally," he replied, taking his great big hammer and slinging it across one of his broad shoulders. "What's first?"

"First.." The boy began, "you lose that high and mighty attitude, because I don't dull my tongue nor my spear for anyone." The smaller man delivered the line with no more threat than ice that already occupied his tone and expression. "After that, I decide whether any of you are even worth taking with."
He took his first real look around the bunch. The girl who shared his forked-tongue tendancies was questionable. If she could cut as well as her words, she would be useful. The large man was an obvious choice, even if it meant nearly crossing blades with him every five minutes. The boy, who had yet remained quiet was harder. He didn't enjoy inexperienced younglings, and he enjoyed watching them with steel through their stomachs worse. Then there was that.... woman? He thought.. Who was lying on the floor, eyeing everyone.
"What can each of you offer to the cause?"

Adeline's eyes glinted and she gave them all a frightening grin. "More than you could possibly imagine. I need to know, however, just what your cause is before I can tell you just how much."

"Sheathe your tongue and you'll be quicker to make allies, it's hard enough to find someone that has your back these days, especially around here. IF you stab them before you get to meet anyone you'll find yourself alone. I'll help if there's something worthwhile, and if you need help, but know that asking kindly would have gotten me here faster," he remarked quietly, but the low rumble in his tone showed it was not submissivly. "My name's Aurochs." He laid the head of his maul on the floor, holding it up by the handle and stepping on it's great big metal head.

"Aurochs," The halfling said slowly, as if thoroughly tasting the name. "Catchy. Well I can offer my services as a thief and assassin. I have never come across anyone who is better at my art than I. And I can say it honestly enough, after all I'm still standing."

"Fayt." The name was offered with a sharp nod to the big man, a small show of respect, but the most he'd ever given, and meaning a lot at that.
"The cause is mine, and yours if you choose to take it. Our first destination is the Windy West and the depths of the Nightweld territory. I would do it myself alone if I could, but I need as much help as I can get, for I fear the journey shall not be a peaceful one." The spearman paused with a sigh, resting the blade of his spear into the crushed groove in the floorboards and leaning against the haft. "I cannot, however, reveal more than where we go, for now. Trust is hard earned these days, and never a given. Know that we will face opposition, and blood shall stain more than one set of steel before we reach our end. Whether that blood is your's or that of your enemy's is by your skill alone. I will not take any to die."
He gave another glance around the room, nodding curtly to himself, apparently still gauging his audience.
"Aurochs, you will be a welcome addition. I will do better to guard my tongue as long as you guard our backs." There definately was less ice in his voice this time. He gave the large man respect for keeping a temper. Usually the Gerauldites were said to be easily taunted.
"An assassin and thief brave enough to name themselves is one skilled enough. I take it you do well scouting and gathering information, then, among other things..." It was less a question than pointing out one of her useful skills.
He looked at Adeline, this time his expression digressed slightly. "This is not a world for imagination or simple fantasies. In this world, there is only real truth and real steel. You must face both to survive. You are welcome to accompany, as long as you do not get underfoot." He turned a quick eye to the ever-quiet boy. "You as well."

The woman's smile became even more upsettingly creepy as she whispered, "I cannot promise exactly that..." Her voice became slightly louder. "However, I can promise that I will not be a hinderment." She finally stood, her liquid-like dress flowing about her form. "The name I go by is Adeline. And believe me, I know abot the real world."

"Well then, Now everyone else has given thier names I supose I could give mine. I'm Perin. My last name is my own business and I think that is about all you need to know about me." She flipped her silver hair over her shoulder and leaned against a chair surveying thier little group. Her eyes eventually went to the dead priest on the floor. "I dont suppose any of you would have a problem with me searching our dearly departed friend for anything useful would you?" She adressed it to the party but her eyes looked pointedly at Fayt. "Because if I dont really care if you do and I would advise you to keep it to yourself." The little woman went over to the bloodied body and started rummaging through the pockets of the robe.

Fayt growled throatily, but knew that a dead friend was a friend no more. "I don't care if you pilfer his coppers, but leave him his garments. I do intend to bury him before we are off."

Adeline nodded. "Wise decision. It is easier for the earth to accept a dead body back into its fertile soil when the body is within its bosom instead of laying atop it." She moved to a window and stared out into the darkness, her silver hair flowing gently to her mid-back. She turned and fixed her silver eyes on Fayt. "Now is the time to do it. It is better by far to bury something before the earth drinks of the rains. It will begin to rain tonight."

Good, Adeline had some sense of the weather. That would come in handy for the travels.
"Hurry up about it, Robber, so we may set his body to rest." Fayt turned on the rest of his would-be party, nodding approvingly to himself. "Alright, this will do. To show I'm a compassionate employer, I'll let you lot decide tonight. Do we start in the rain this night or find a rathole to sleep in this rundown town and head out with the morn?"

"The rain will be heavy. The earth has not had anything to drink for the past month. Father Heavens has to care for his wife, and now she is thirsty. I think it would be wise to start your journey in the morning." She said this all with a gentle, but firm voice, sounding sure of herself in every aspect of the word.

"As much as I thrive in the night air I dispise the wet so I will agree with our dark skinned friend." Perin said as she opened a stoppered vail. She sniffed the contents carefully and then peered inside. "Hmm must be holy water." she muttered and tucked it away. The man didn't have much on him but she got a few trinkets she could pawn off in some small town. He had a nicce pair of boots she was tempted to take and a good leather belt that was not to worn but she respected Fayt's wish this time and left them.

"Well then, we are off on the morrow. I will find the hole the tender has crawled into, and.. persuade him to allow us the tavern for the night. If you've anything left to do, do it tonight, for we leave at first light." He turned to leave when a last thought came to him. "Aurochs, help me bury him when I get back, would you?" With the last said, he hefted his spear over his shoulder and into a holster that crossed his back and up one shoulderblade. Taking a quick stride, he moved off to the small kitchen behind the bar where he imagined the pudgy tavernmaster had disappeared to.
