A dagger found itself a few feet infront of the walking man. "I'd stop right there if I were you." Perin said lazily. "It isn't nice to come at people with your intentions hidden." Her silvery eyes narrowed as she kept on the alert. She was ready to move or attack at a moment's notice. "And what is this information we supposedly know? He really didn't say much. Kind of a moron if you ask me. Why would he know something so important hmm? So important that it seems to have set the...world you say, against us? And based on the wording of your previous confession, are you saying that it is the three of us and not him that are being persued or all four of us?"

"The knowledge we possess? He hasn't told us anything worthwhile at all about what we're doing. He asked for a hand with this, and told us there would be profit in for us, without telling us any details between here and then." Aurochs replied in his loud tone, hefting his hammer in front of him. "And we still have no reason to believe you."

Adleine crossed her arms at the man's comment about her. He really knew nothing. And he was rude. She was not liking him at all. "No reason whatsoever, since you still have not even told us whether or not you are his friend or foe to him - or to us," the WOMAN added to Aurochs and Perin's comments.

The man stopped where the dagger lay. His foot inches from the blade as if he meant to test the line she set as much as he could without crossing it. He rose his hands up in a shrug, turning his palms upwards in front of him in a soothing manner.
"Now, now, no need to get testy. I'm not here to argue about how much of an idiot Fayt is, we all know that full well. I'm supposed to meet Fayt and his companions and take them away from the bordertown and to a small outpost of the Faith. It's safe there.. That's all."
The man paused a moment, letting his hands fall to his sides with an audible sigh. "Has he really told you nothing? And yet you follow him for the simple promise of profit? It isn't fair of him to not let you know of the dangers you face.. If you come with me to the outpost, I'll explain everything on the way, but we cannot linger here on the road like this. There are Eyes and Ears everywhere in this world. It is not safe."

Adline found herself grinning again in her secretive way. Profit? No. That had nothing to do with her following. She knew more than the halfling and the giant for sure, though she was not entirely certain of Fayt's intentions yet. But it seemed so far that Fayt was one that she could follow about in this upper world and help fight those who were hurting Mother. She remained silent, looking to the others after her grin faded, asking silently if they would follow this stranger or not.

Perin also grinned but it was aimed at the man infront of them. "Of course. I'm a greedy little thing and if the number are right then I'll give it a shot. What's your name anyway?" Her posture relaxed. She would trust him for the time being. He had not given them any real reason not too. Except come out of the shadows, but she couldn't really blame him for that. After all she did it all the time. The silver haired woman approached this new man slowly to show that she also meant no harm...for the moment. She looked up at him and then picked up her knife. She inspected it for damage and then put it away. "I'm Perin."

"Rayge" Up close, the man was of the same size and build as Fayt. His features were similar too, but where Fayt's eyes held warmth, Rayge's reflected nothing, as if void of all emotion. Cold eyes.
"We'll head North off the road, and then continue mostly West. The encampment isn't very far off, we'll reach it well before sundown. You don't have to worry about leaving a trail, I've some allies around who will clean up behind us." He waited for the assent of the big man and the dark woman.

Aurochs had to agree. They couldn't risk staying on the road more than they had without going further... yet he wanted to be sure they weren't heading right into someone else's trap. "Very well... " he said gruffly, letting go of his maul with one hand, holding it in the other and peering at the rest of the party...

Adeline looked critically at the man for a moment, then shrugged, her arms still crossed. "Fine. I suppose there is no other option." She paused for a moment and then looked at the man again. "Nice name," she commented, sounding like she really meant it. She had no weapons to put away, so she simply strode to where the halfling was standing, showing she was ready to go.

"This way then.." Rayge took a few steps back, making sure they were going to come. Then, turning his back, he moved over to where he had grounded his sword. Lifting the large sword from its resting place, he slung it over his shoulder again with an ease that spoke of familiarity with the weapon. He then turned to where he had been sitting alongside the road and moved to the where the travel-worn path met sun-torched expanse. "We'll head mostly north from here for about an hour. I'll answer any questions you have while we travel."
