Tai'sho's hand came up as well, and his twin, on impulse when she saw his go up, also raised hers.
Jeshon figured others would volunteer, so he kept his hand down. He would wait... impatiently.

"Hmm.. Let's see.." Minate's finger traced the classroom in thought, hovering over people before he would shake his head and move on. Finally, it rested on Snowbird.
"How about a girl this time? If you would be so kind?" He held out the small fat man the same way he did for Kire.
==============================================================================================================
Kale cursed under his breath and made it a point to glare at the girl.

Snowbird smiled and rose, pointedly ignoring Kale's glare. What was that youngster's problem, anyway? She walked to the front of the class and slowly reached toward the small figure in the teacher's hand. Like her mother had taught her before, she gently let some of her will-power into the little figure and then pulled in. The rush was not as potent as it was for Kire, but she expected as much; Minate had said it would be so. However, the increase of power she felt was still incredible. Her teal eyes shone and her wings (which had become almost as large as her body legthwise over the years) began to beat slowly in an unconcious way.

Minates eyebrows rose in spite of himself.
"You have.. great potential, young one. You truly do possess strong blood." Minate took a moment, tapping his chin thoughtfully.
Minate reached into his pocket, rummaging through what was most likely random junk. After a moment, he took out what looked like a small hairpin.
"I want to try something.. Here, release the angreal and take this.." Minate held forth the hairpin to Snowbird.
"Tai'sho, could you come up here as well?"

((I'm guessing Kire is back in his seat))
Jeshon turned to Kire with a raised eyebrow, as if to ask if maybe he knew what was going on.
Snowbird let go of the angreal as instructed and grasped the hairpin, the energy still flowing through her because he had not told her to let it go.
Tai looked startled, but rose obediently and went up to join his twin at the front of the room. His white garments and wings making his mess of black hair and teal eyes stand out. He stood expectantly, his eyes focused on his sister's moving wings with interest.

][ Oops, sorry about that. I'm assuming Kire went back to his seat as well, sorry. ][
"Alright, let's take this one step at a time. First, Snowbird, I want you to put a flow of Spirit into the Hairpin, then I want Tai to do the same.."
The Hairpin was a ter'angreal that mimicked 'Linking'. A form of temporary spiritual bonding that allowed up to thirteen people to combine their powers. The difference was, the one who held the Hairpin had complete control of how the power was drawn and used. In a Linking Circle, the strongest would take lead.
If it worked right, not only would Snowbird gain control of Tai's spiritual potential, but she would gain a sort of 'awareness' of him. Like a small knot of his emotions in the back of his mind. She'd be aware of what he was feeling and be able to point to him from miles away. That is to say, that's how a traditional 'Bond' worked, but with Linking, you couldn't do it from miles away anyways.

Snowbird looked up at Minate in slight discomfort. She did not want to misuse the extra power within her while trying to release more of her will into this tiny object... However, a supportive glance from her twin allowed her the courage. Remembering all her mother had taught her, Snowbird closed her eyes in concentration and very, very slowly released some will into the hairpin, careful not to put too much in. The work was strenuous, but once she was sure she was in control, she relaxed, though the euphoria of the enhanced power continued to make her wings move... something she still did not notice.
Tai'sho smiled and reached out, gently taking hold of the other side of the pin. He let some of his will-power out as well, and quite suddenly, he felt an invasion of his senses. It was a presence he had known since before birth, however. He gasped slightly, even as his twin's eyes widened. Snowbird and Tai'sho were, in a sense, feeling as if they were one again; they had been before, afterall. Snowbird felt as if she might burst with the sudden share of power with her twin; he really was powerful, though he did not show it. She could feel his awe of the situation as well.
Both of them looked at each other's matching eyes, mouths slightly open. They were total opposites, yet they were the same. Such an odd, wonderful feeling...
Jeshon found himself ingulfed in the sight before him. Though he could not feel what they were, he felt a sudden rush of excitment; a wish to know what it all felt like.

"Alright. To explain for the class, what's going on between these two right now is known as 'Linking'. Linking is normally a highly advanced technique, but the Hairpin they're using is a ter'angreal designed to mimick the technique. Linking allows the two, and up to thirteen, to share magical prowess in order to perform feats normally impossible seperate. Also, an added effect is like 'Bonding'. The people will share emotions and feelings, and the ability to sense the other's presence."
Minate spoke over the heads of the two students to the class. Finishing, he turned back down to the two.
"Now, this next part might seem more difficult. Snowbird, you are in control of this Link right now. What I want you to do is release your hold on the hairpin and let your spiritual energy drain away. If done right, you should not be holding any energy of your own, but still be able to use your brother's."

Libby was watching this intently. She found it facinating. She idly wondered if she really did want to try it out though. She wasn't sure if she did or not. She supposed that if she got called on then she would but she would make no further effort to try and get picked.
Kimmy on the other hand went back to her drawing as she let out a yawn.

Snowbird frowned slightly, not wanting to let go of this new sensation. But she did as she was told. Leaving the hairpin solely to her brother, she turned away from it and let her energy drain. It was not a fun experience. She had that extra power within her still, so it took extra energy to release it all. It was like controlling a large breath that you let go, and keep going until you have absolutely no air left in your lungs. However, when she let herself relax, she still felt strong. It was a sense of power that she had not felt before this time, and she knew instantly that the power within her was that of her brother's. "Now what, sir?"
Tai felt slightly out of breath himself, but he still shared a connection with his sister somehow.

"Alright, now this is a practice of concentration, and it might seem very odd at first. I want you to reach out with Spirit and touch the angreal. But, I don't want you to do this with your power, do it with your brother's. And, if you can succeed in this, I want you to slowly draw his strength through it. "Slowly", mind you. Your brother hasn't used it yet, so it will be a new experience for him."
He then turned to Tai. "And, what I want you to do, is try to release your hold, drain the power from your spirit and dissipate the Link with your sister." In fact, Minate knew this was futile, but was using it as an example. Once linked, the person in control of the Link not only had full control of the others' strength, they decided when anyone was added or removed from the Link. It was one of the great dangers of the technique, and why he used the two siblings who already had an established trust with one another.

Tai tried to do what he was asked. He tried so hard that he thought his mind might burst from all the effort he was putting into it, but he could not let go of the link he had with his sister. He could still feel her struggling with the power within her and the elation she was feeling. "Sir," he mumbled, embarrassed. "I can't do it."
Snowbird, by now, was sweating slightly from all the work it took to do all of these assignments and did not hear what her brother said. She closed her eyes and tried to search through herself to find the source where her brother's power was coming from. But she was unable to find it. It was part of her now. So, the first thing I need to do is separate it from mine somehow... She concentrated on what power felt different and what felt so natural that she had never noticed until now. Finally feeling like she had connected with the power that the ter'angreal had given to her from her twin, she turned to the fat little figurine and let out some of the will power that was not hers into it. Then, excrusiatingly slowly, she drew in the power from the angreal. When she was finished, she thought for sure that she would burst as a whole from all of the power that the little object allowed the power of a man. Her wings were beating faster now, enough to bring her slightly off the ground.
Tai'sho's eyes widened with the new experience. Because of the link with his sister and since the power used was his own, he felt the same elation. He, being a male, had more capacity for this, yet felt his sister's struggle to keep the power contained within him. He realized with amazement that he was also hovering. How interesting. His sister looked so strained, though... and he could feel her strength waning to keep it under control. He turned his black-haired head to the teacher. "Sir, she's in trouble!"

Minate was already aware of it. He placed a hand on each of the siblings foreheads and channeled a small amount of spirit into each. He slowly calmed and relaxed their minds, allowing their spirits to reactively and natural release the concentrated wills that was the power they were holding. It was somewhat the same as putting someone to sleep, however he was simply relaxing them to the verge of sleep, where the body enters a state of complete relaxation and minimizes activity and strain.
"Very good.. very good.. rest now.. let it relax.. you did well.." He spoke softly to both, but he was looking at Snowbird, who seemed to be overwhelmed by what he'd had her experience.

Both twins were tottering on their feet, their wings drooping slightly. Tai went over to his sister quickly, however, as she began to lose her balance completely. She fell into his arms and was motionless. His teal eyes became filled with worry as he bent down and whispered urgently, "Elauna?" She did not answer... but it became evident that she was only in an unconcious state. The elf/angel halfling looked up at his teacher, wondering what he should do.

Minate frowned and sighed irritably. "High Dark's gonna kill me for this...," he mumbled under his breath, maybe a bit too loud.
"Take her to High Dark's study. She only needs rest." He patted Tai's shoulder with a comforting hand. "You did well. You may take your time coming back."
