"Cut it too closely and you'll get caught one of these days," Kire replied, glancing at the teacher for a moment. He leaned back in his chair and kicked a leg up onto the desk, slouching to get comfortable. "Hope the whole class goes like this.. it'll be nice and relaxing before we have to go to Dark's class..."

Jeshon shrugged. "I live on the edge, and I would not have it any other way." He put a leg on his desk and slouched as well, putting his hands behind his head and looking up toward the ceiling. "I dunno about Misstress Dark's class being terribly hard... but she has her moments. I heard she was in a pretty good mood today, though; her daughter was not hit on at all yet." He looked across the room at Snowbird's back, her silver hair cascading down her back. "I could easily take care of that... but I don't think I will."

"Well.. it's only a little hard.. But man is she intense. It's hard to get a break in there. I think it's because her kids are in our class that she pushes us harder than the others." Kire remarks in a lower tone so as not to offend the twins with his comments.

"Perhaps. I like a challange every once in a while. And if it means more attention from the daughter, I am all for it." He flashed Kire a grin and then relaxed again.

"I think it's less that her kids are in our class, that we happen to be the only class this year.. Why else would you be stuck in here with us, Kire?" Kale had awoken from his feigned sleep, speaking through his hair as his head rested lazily on his chest.
==============================================================================================================
"Alright, I think we'll get started for today. That's enough time to lounge around." Minate stood up, closing the book. Apparently he'd reached the end of a chapter and, in so doing, remembered that he had a class in the same room.
"The lesson I'll be teaching you today is on 'objects of the power'. These are objects that are imbued to react to, or imitate, or even enhance magic. The three different types are known as angreal, sa'angreal and ter'angreal." He listed of the types absently while sifting through something behind his desk.
"Kire, can you tell me the difference between these specific objects and other objects that hold magical properties?" Minate's question came from behind his desk, where he still hid, fiddling with something.

Jeshon muttered to Kale before Minate had stood up: "You know, I am in the same class with you as well, and I am just as old as Kire is..."
He had looked up when the professor spoke in their direction, however.

Libby snickered when Kire was asked that question. He didn't seem the one to know the answer to a question like that. But then he was always one to give snide remarks at times. Those always amused her.
Kimmy zoned out withher head in her hand as she sketched things on a peice of paper. These lectures were so Boring. Boring, this is really boring. She sang in her head as she finished the tail of her...tadpole? "What is this?" she asked aloud, not very loud but still audible, as she rotated the paper.

"Umm.. I.. Don't know.. " Kire replied, scratching the back of his head sheepishly. He wasn't very good yet with Elven... He had, by this time, rearranged himself so he was sitting normally, only slouching a little. Was that in a book somewhere? He hadn't heard of them before. Maybe he should study more. Kire was the type to rely on natural talent until something else rocked the boat and required him to study.

"That is correct!" Minate's head popped up with a medium size chest held between his hands. Placing the chest on the table with a small thud he pointed a finger at Kire.
"No one truly knows what makes them different than regular magical objects, because they were all made before anyone can remember, back in the Golden Era when Magic reigned over the world and life was full of splendor."
"An angreal is an object that can enhance the amount of magical power that you can handle safely. Each object's enhancement varies, sometimes only miniscule amounts, sometimes up to tenfold!!" By this time, Minate had started taking out some objects from his chest. These all seemed to be random pieces of junk of all sizes, shapes and origins. Not to mention, all that he took out seemed to be far too much for the chest to have initially held... The one that Minate held and emphasized as he spoke was a small figurine of a chubby little man sitting with a small sword laying across his lap. It appeared to be made of some type of old porcelain.
"This is an angreal designed to assist men. It only multiplies it's wielders prowess by less than three times, but even that alone is powerful." He set the small figure down, treating it as gently as if it truely were made of porcelain... Or maybe he was just reluctant to let it go.
"A ter'angreal is an object imbued with magic that has been designed for a specific purpose. Not much is known about many of these objects, and it is very dangerous to study them. A few, however, we do know their purpose and use them regularly. Some ter'angreal require the use of magic to activate, some can be used by anyone, and can be activated by a simple touch or breath of air. This is why we gather all of these objects and store them here in the White Tower. Left alone, they could be very dangerous to any who chance across one." He emphasized a few randomed objects he had taken out. A long, sleek rod with engraving in a lost language curving up its length. A small archway that was curved and jagged in an impossible way, and didn't quite place right with the eye, making you feel queezy if you tried to follow the arches around it's length. Another was a small bowl, guilded by only a few leaves, as if a very meek and rather gaudy piece of dinnerware.
"The last, unfortunately, I don't have an example of. A sa'angreal is much like an angreal, in that it multiplies it's wielders potential, but where an angreal will enhance it's user's power by tenfold, a sa'angreal is tenfold as strong as an angreal. Very few of these have ever been found, and all are very carefully guarded. The dangers are obvious, in that no one soul should control that much power at once."
==============================================================================================================
Initially, Kale hadn't bothered to reform his feigned sleep, but once Minate mentioned improving your magical potential by many times over, he found himself sitting forward, listening intently, and eyeing the figurine of the fat man with the sword.
Now, this was the kind of useful thing that he needed. If only he could get his hands on one of these 'objects', he'd have no need to be here learning from this quack.

Libby had a look of contemplation on as she looked at the archway. She tried not to concentrate on the actual thing too much, for she did not want to get a headache, but it was like a puzzle and she could not help but be drawn to it. She loved puzzles. The girl raised her hand high into the air. "Umm what do those particular ter'angreal do exactally?"

"That, is a very good question!" He pointed in the general direction of the class, his praise lost as his attention was already directed at the objects before him.
He gestured to the long rod that was before him. "This, is 'The Oath Rod'. Any oath made while holding this rod, and channeling a flow of Spirit into it will be bound to the holder as sure as blood. Any oath taken with it cannot be broken. Every Wielder must take oaths on this rod when they come to power, in order to keep this world safe."
He moved on to the small archway. "This little eyesore, is a ter'angreal designed to induce an experience when channeled through. Each experience is different for each person. However, each, in itself, is dangerous, because the object seems to show its victim something that intices them to stay forever trapped in its spell. It takes great strength of will to use this object and break through."
The last was the small bowl, which Minate moved to excitedly. "This little humble bowl is much more than it seems. And takes quite a bit of power to use. This bowl, used by 13 full Wielders linked together, can change and control the very weather itself. However, this also comes with its consequences. For, if you decided to make it rain here, then it would have to take rain from somewhere else in the world, causing drought and death as a price for the decision. This is why these objects are all very carefully guarded and used only with much consideration and preparation."
Any who could recognize flows would note a sturdy shield of Spirit engulfing the whole lot of items, preventing anything more than eyes from piercing through.
==============================================================================================================
Kale had very little attention for any of the random things. It was still the angreal and the thought of something stronger yet that held his thoughts. How could he get one? How do you recognize these pieces of junk for what they truly were? Normally, a good student would ask these, but Kale never asked for help for anything.

Jeshon found himself in the same position as Kale was, but not thinking the same thoughts. He found all of this to be very interesting.
Snowbird and Tai both sat straight in their chairs, Tai's little piece of metal totally in disregard now. They had seen their mother and father use some of these objects before, but they had never really known the properties or the workings of them.

"How do you know if something's an angreal or just a piece of junk?" Kire asked, frowning confusedly at the objects. "And.. what do you mean by 'amplifies your power'? Does that mean that all your spells are more powerful or what?"

"Good, good questions. Very well thought." Minate nodded to himself, stepping in front of the desk, walking in between the students.
"It is very difficult to distinguish an object that holds magical properties. The best way to describe it, is that it has a.. 'resonance' to magic. If you use magic in the vacinity of an object that is in tune with magic, you will 'feel' it. As to whether something is an angreal, sa'angreal, or ter'angreal, that's something that's more of a Talent."
"As to how the angreal and sa'angreal enhance your power. They will not make your spells stronger, that is not how it works. What it does, is allow you to use more magic. It increases the amount of power that you can wield at one time. Such as, splitting your weaves to hold multiple spells at once. Or widdening the range of a particular spell. It will not, however, refine or strengthen any of your spells. Simply increase their potential. It is still you who must control the power. It just allows you the chance to control much more than you normally would unaided."

"So, Sir, does this sap one's energy to use at all? After the spell is cast, that is?" Snowbird was intrigued, but remembered that her mother usually was tired after using a spell and just wanted to make sure there was no trickery behind this.
