"Sooner we get out of here the better." A high voice said from around their hips. "I hate this place. It gives me far less security than I'm used too." Perin really didn't care if it offended the creepy...thing. She had taken a slight dislike for the girl at being called a creature. And that grin she always wore irritated her beyond everything else.

But Adeline was not offended. Everyone was entitled to their own opinion, and she was well aware that only those of her race really cared for this place. And they all were creatures, whether they liked it or not. If she was to be classified as one, so were they. Just because someone was human or halfling did not make a difference whatsoever to her. Everyone was a creature. The selfish humans liked to think otherwise, but they were wrong. She walked with indifference, but gracefully. She did not care if they didn't like her yet. They'd grow to appreciate her as she grew to appreciate them. These things took time.

Aurochs nodded, slinging the maul again over the great expanse that was his broad-shouldered back. Then again, calling his back broad was like calling Mt. Everest a hill. "We will restock in the small village if you think we will need it. I trust when we arrive at said town that you will give us more details..." rumbled the big man as he peered at Fayt. He glanced at Adeline, then Perin, and nodded. "We are ready."

The group moved mostly in silence through the dawn, heading to the south end of town. They hardly saw another living soul. That is to say, almost every other living soul avoided the strange procession.
When they reached the south edge of town, the road split three ways. One went East, one South, one West. Fayt didn't lose a step, turning right and heading West. He set a strong pace. As strong a pace as a group could move without horses. They'd make maybe 40 miles a day, which put them several days from a town and more from Nightweld, not to mention when they cut off the road.
They traveled most of the first day in silence, sticking close the road, only stepping off to avoid larger processions than they. The occassional border patrol and even small merchant trains.
It was beginning to become late, and the sun was falling. What seemed the first words to pass between them since that morning were, "It's late. Let us find a place for the night a few minutes off the main road."

"Did anyone bring supplies for camp, or do we go about sleeping where we will?" Adeline did not seem at all concerned, but she thought she'd ask.

"Each should have brought what they need for sleep. We can manage a fire, and we can forage and hunt as we move. Normally we'd stop at midday to find food and take a rest, but I wanted to be as far away from Aus and whoever set that fire as we could manage in a day."
Fayt turned from the road, walking through the very scarce foilage and rolling hills. He'd traveled these lands much and knew of a small clearing surrounded by covering they could use for the night.

Adeline decided it was best to find out where they all were going to be before setting out for food, so she followed Fayt once more to the clearing. "You seem to know this place very well," she commented.

"I... traveled a lot through this region," he admitted grudgingly, his voice catching only a moment. He'd grown up in this nation, but he'd long since disowned his homeland. It was but another place to him now.

"Fire took my pack," Aurochs remarked as he followed Fayt, surveying the area as they moved. "We'll have to survive tonight without luxury. It doesn't look like it will rain." stated the giant as he squinted up at the darkening sky, clear enough to shoot a star down from the heavens.

"Oh, I grabbed some sheets, and a light blanket if anyone needs anything." Perin said as she took the items out of her bulging pack. "I figured they would come in handy. For rope or something. but using them for what they are supposed to be used for works too I guess." The halfling put aside a sheet for herself and piled two more a little ways away. "I want every one of them back though. Unless you'd like to carry them around."
She was not very impressed with the big man loosing his pack to the fire. Really they should spend a little more time thinking about the worldy items of the world then the lives of others. Yes, they should be a tad more like herself. "I also have lots of trinkets and purses we can use when we get to this town. Hopefully the lot of them are not broke."

Fayt led the odd lot over a few hills, through some thickets, until they reached a downward climb. It seemed a small bowl hidden inbetween the hills and surrounded by trees to make a sort of hidden oasis, minus the water. Fayt landed on the ground with agility, taking the final leap off the limb of a tree.
"There's an easier way up on the other side. There's also a creek that way if anyone needs to fill their waterskins. We'll make the fire here and rest for the night. I'll go out and catch some game so we can have a small meal. We won't need to worry about unexpected guests here..."
Fayt left them with the explanation, already taking the rise on the other side of the small hidden campsite and disappearing into the coming twilight.

"...Unless there are people following us..." Adeline muttered to herself. She looked around the clearing with her silver eyes to size it up. Overall, she liked it. The strangely beautiful creature turned to Aurochs. "If you wish, I can make you shelter. It will take about an hour, but I can assure you that it'll be secure and warm. If you wish to simply use Perin's blankets, so be it, but just know that I am willing to do so." Her eyes turned to the halfling. "The same offer applies to you as well."

Perin's eyes narrowed as she assesed the other woman. "And how much would that cost? What service would we be required to do in return for this...favor?" She did not trust this one. She was creepy and who in the world just goes up and offers something without wanting something in return. Her mind wandered to her deceased friend Deekin. Yes, no one who isn't stupid would do such a thing.

"There is no cost. I am not like you, Miss Perin. I need nothing in return for the earth's services. Now, do you wish one or not? Either way, it matters not to me."

"I'm fine without your help," Aurochs replied, taking off his maul and dropping it on the ground with a very loud thud. he unhitched his other small weaponry, and took a seat beside them on an area that was just lumpy enough to be comfortable.
