Okay, first off I'll note that when I came up witht he name Sahi, it was way prior to hearing your arabic phone gag Dark'n'Thistle, so his tribal name is no way related to your Sahi. I wrote that in when I colorized the pick, thinking that I'd need a catchier name than Tuck, and Sahi sort of rolled off tha tongue as I was connecting Japanese phonetics together...
Question #25 means to give a quote of something they would say.
1. Name: "Tuck" or "Sahi Kyesinsa" which means 'quickfeather'
Age: 20 in human years (approx 13 biologically)
DOB: 20 years ago in the late summer. Around July 30th I suppose.
Height: 4'11"
Weight: 112 lbs
2. Where were you born?
"Along the plains far to the southwest, fringing the jungle."
3. Tell me about your eye color, hair color and style
"I've got bright green eyes with a gold shine to them, and really really long brass-blonde hair that reaches down to my ankles, though I braid it from the back of my neck down to almost the very tip, where it sort of brushes out.
4. Do you have any scars or handicaps? Physical, emotional and mental descriptions would be great.
"Ooh I have alot of scars! Wanna see? They're mostly on my arms and legs. I got this one from trying to outrun a plains raptor.. and this one form trying to wrestle a feralcat.. and this one..." after a while he gets to underclothing scars, and the interviewer stops him.
"No handicaps really..."
5. What is your educational background?
"Erm.. Well.. I learned to speak Common from my mother, but that's about it. I know how to hunt, and fish, and build huts.. I can skin animals for fur and leather.. but nothing formal... My tribe didn't think that stuff was really important."
6. Tell me about your work experience.
"I used to hunt alot with some of the older tribe members, and occasionally i would help them build pit houses for when the winter came, or when the shaman said a storm would be coming..And I'm not bad at making leather clothing out of pelts and things...
"
7. Who is your best friend? Name both a woman and a man.
Male: Oh.. Well.. I don't really have any real friends. The tribe members are close i suppose, but they don't really care much how you feel, as long as it doesn't interfere with anyone else. They're very.. survival based. Not much nonsense with them. No one really wanted to socialize with me anyway.
Female: I suppose my only real female friend would be my mother.. I guess that sounds kind of stupid.. but She's the only one who would really ask how I was and things like that when I would return home.
8. Who are your enemies and why are they your enemies? One of my brothers... My older one. He doesn't like me at all.. I suppose it's because I was doing better than he was at fulfilling my role with the tribe. I got to sit at the council fires before he was allowed to... He's sort of jealous, and often threw names at me like half-breed and such...
9. Tell me about your parents.
My mother was an elf who was captured by a raiding party. She used to cry alot when I was little, but now she's sort of accepted things, and worked on making me happy. She's got bright gold hair, like me, and emerald green eyes. She's very kind, but quiet, and never leaves the hut, unless the tribe has to move or something.
"My father is the leader of our halfling Tribe. He's not as 'soft' as my mother, as he would like to say. He believes entirely in survival of the fittest. At first he didn't like me, my mother says, because I was more frail than halflings, and would get sick often. But As I grew older, and tried to prove myself to him, he becae.. aware I guess, of what I could do. I guess he's rather proud of me, even if he doesn't say it or show it... He never speaks to Mother unless Something's wrong with me."
10. What are your present problems?
"Well, I left my tribe to go seek out the other half of my blood.. the elves, and learn from them. When I saw Dark for the first time, i was sort of amazed that I found one. I guess I've been kind of slacking on asking her anything though.. She kind of scares me to be honest.. though I don't know why..."
11. How can your problems get worse?
"If I can't learn anything about my people and have to return to my tribe as a failure.. Or if the elves don't like me because I'm part halfling, a very uncommon breed.. I'm told."
12. What is your strongest characteristic?
I'm determined when it comes to proving that I'm capable of things, and not a child.
13. What is your weakest characteristic?
...Sometimes I act like a child alot, and people see me as it. Because I'm part elf, I age slower also, so I still get treated like a kid because of how I look.
14. You see yourself as _ The best of both worlds, Elven and Halfling._
15. You are seen by others as _ A green, summerborn child_
("That's a phrase from my tribe. Summerborn doesn't actually mean born in summer (usually) it means 'doesn't know what winter is like.' Winter is a harsh time, and if you don't know how to prepare yourself, you wont survive. So summerborn sort of means, a foolish, unprepared child.")
16. Tell me about your private life and your public life.
Oh.. Well My public life is mostly me at play, or me helping others with things. I got to help Khorg and Tesshu build on the tavern, that was pretty cool. So that's sort of what my public life is..
Privately, I like to make decorative clothing... Dye and color hides and furs, use leaves or grass, feathers, teeth and claws, and all sorts of shiny stones I find. They make great accessories... I make shawls, bracers, necklaces, headbands, and all sorts of stuff that my tribe likes to wear.
17. Tell me about your sense of humor/kind of humor.
I like rediculuous things. Like a bear with big floppy elephant ears, or Thistle wearing a formal dress. I don't get most witticisms and jokes, because my tribe wasn't very big on breeding humor, mostly it wasn't tolerated, as it was frivolous and silly.
18. What is your basic nature?
I'm honest, dependable, and I try to be a better person than my other tribe members.. I don't mean that in a vain, I'm better than you" way.. but My tribe members didn't care about the others as long as they did their part to help everyone survive... I thought all the world was like that until I came here, and found what "friends" are. I realized I want something like that... So I try to be nicer and kinder...
( lawful good. )
19. Do you have any ambitions? What?
Well... wow now that I think about it, apart from my quest on learning from elven cultures, and making friends.. I really don't have anything I want to do.. Maybe.. I could found my own tribe.. Or find a mate. But I have a long time before I have to think about things like that.
20. What is your philosophy of life?
Life should be enjoyed, without people having to judge your every move and decide whether you have the right to live. While we should help everyone survive, Life is worhtless to people who don't VALUE it. Live, fun isn't just for children.
21. What are your hobbies?
Making tribal clothes and leatherworking.. I'm also a good builder. I'm also really quick, which is why I'm called "quickfeather" by my tribe. I usually have feathers in my braid, so that's all people would see as I rushed by. Hehe..
22. Tell me about your preferred kinds of music, art, reading, colors, pastime, and dress.
Drums! Drums, flutes, and singing and dancing. My tribe would do these in all sorts of rituals. While we never did them in recreation (for fear of offended the spirits we honored by doing these things), I always liked listening to the performers.
23. Describe your home environment physical, emotional and mental.
Well.. My home NOW is sort of hanging around the Tavern. I left for a while after I first came around, because I wanted to find more elves.. But I couldn't. So I came back and now sort of hang out here. I wonder if they'd let me build a pit house around the area...
24. What is the most important thing to know about the character?
He's a good kid, and unlike my other child-like characters, he's trying to grow up, not stay in perpetual childhood. He's friendly and will talk to you about just about anything if you speak to him.
25. Give me a one line characterization.
"Just give me a chance, I promise I'll make you proud."
26. What trait will make this character come alive?
His exoticness and his good nature. He's honest, and alothough he's naive about certain subjects, he will give you any help he can.
27. Why was this character worth writing about?
Because I love the whole Idea of a Tribalistic culture, and creating Tuck was sort of my way of sating that desire to roleplay it and throw in some exotic stuff. Not just a classic germanic longsword and cloak type..
28. Do you like this character? Why?
Oh I like Tuck alot. At first I just created him because I didn't want to create Aramil, but when I embraced his barbaric nature and started to draw and write up a history for him, he really came alive without much of my own help. He soon became one of my favorite characters, even competing with Zephyr in my heart.
29. Do you dislike this character? Why? Question Void.
30. Will the others on the site like/dislike this character? Why? I think they'll like him, because although he isn't as adorably cute, he's kind, a people person, and a dependable friend whould anyone make friends with him (so far I think Djinn is the closest, which is kinda cool).
31. Characters who will be remembered are strong or saints or sinners, etc. Why will this character be remembered? Because he was a good soul, innocent, and reliable when it came to keeping his friends safe and alive. He's also a very out-of-the-box character.
32. Find a piece of music that goes with this character. If this character had a song, what would it be? The opening to Disney's Tarzan, "Two Worlds, one Family." because of his split heritage, and his desire to know more about his elven kind. That and he's very tribal, like the apes, and I recently got the Tarzan soundtrrack and have been absorbing it.
33. If you could compare your character to another famous character (real or imagined) who would you closely compare yourself to and why?
Actually disney's version of Tarzan would be a pretty appropriate comparison now that I think about it. He's a wild child, born into a very tribalistic and almost uncaring family, led by his stern-faced father, and wants to know about his heritage.
34. If someone famous were to play your character, who would it be and why?
Okay you're probably getting sick of this reference, but Alex Rutherford, the child who played Young Tarzan in the Broadway version of Disney's Tarzan. Not only is that kid adorably cute, but he's blond, thin, and has an amazing singing voice. He'll be perfect I think. (( he was the one we saw when we went to NY, Dark.))
35. Tell me a favorite quote that your character would like. “We are driven by five genetic needs: survival, love and belonging, power, freedom, and fun.” William Glasser, 1925.
36. Consider this character as an animal. Describe it. Definitly a Monkey. He's a wild animal that likes to climb, is quick, and his hair looks like a tail.
37. Consider this character as a musical instrument. Describe it. A wooden marimba-like thing... It has a strange tribal melodic sound to it, and i can easily see him running around, leaping and rolling with a marimba playing something like Lion king tunes in the background.
38. Consider this character as an object. Describe it.
A bright colorful feather found on the ground. Everyone who sees it likes to look at it, it came from a wild animal, but no one knows exactly where it came from. He also has many feathers in his hair.
39. Consider this character as a food. Describe it.
Food..? Hrm... Likely a rabbit. While it's hard to catch and hunt because it's so quick, it's a food that is eaten in many different ways ( don't listen to sam, "There's only one way to cook a brace of coneys"), and almost always found in the wild.
40. Consider this character as a famous cartoon character. Who would they be most like? Why?
I believe young Tarzan was mentioned...
