Flip was among the marines in Bravo Squad, holding his gun at attention, his job to secure the rear from ambush. He shook inside his suit, thoroughly spooked by the ship. The sounds and the lack of light, save for their flashlights, was unsettling. And, being a good 5 yards back from the squad did not help at all. A sound to his left made him jump and try to fire off a round, but he still had the safety, not to mention that the sound was only a sparking wire, ripped out of the wall forcibly. He silently chided himself for being so easily scared and walked over to the wire. He lowered his gun and fingered the sealed part of the wire. <mutter> "Something ripped this out of the wall, through all of the alloy.. What could do such a thing..?"

Fiend tried to get into contact with all the plattoon, someting was horribly wrong here. "Beta squad, do you read?" He said, he barely held his composure, he couldnt help but feel alone, even if he was still with his squad.
Another shadow passed in front of Snake, "What the... This is not good..." He said. Guys, keep a steady perimeter!" Fiend said, "We have to wait for the others!"

"Hello? You guys still there? heh.. not to sound like a coward, but I really don't want to leave my position...If theres any way you could-" he was interrupted with apbrupt silence, all they could hear on his end. Soon however the silence was broken by heavy staggered breathing into the private's intercom, his own. "I...I'm c, coming.. I'll t, try to hit the rendezvouz...Over and out." And the link closed.

"Soldier!" a booming voice came through out the hallway that Flip had turned down, "Did I say you could leave your post?!" From around the corner came a creature of abnormal size. Classifying him as human was not the first idea to come into one's mind. Decked out in full metallic battle armor designed to excentuate his buldging muscles, his intimidating figure walked straight over to Flip and loomed over him like the Leaning Tower of Piza would to a cheetoh, and pointed back towards the bravo group.
"Your job was to watch the rear of the squad and make sure we don't get ambushed. Now you have the option of doing your job, or being bait!" the bulking man shouted.
"Sir, we're suppose to be a bit quieter as to not draw attention to ourselves, just incase there are indeed enemies here..." a man from the Bravo Squad pointed out. The large man turned his head, like a dragon would as if it saw dinner before him, and glared. Then he turned back to Flip and awaited an answer. His next idea was to indeed use him as bait.

"Crap..." Fiend said as the linked ended. He turned around to face his troops with a look of horror upon his face, of course none of the other members could see that underneath his mask. "Well looks like were gonna be here a while boys, best get comfortable." Snake began to inspect his gun to pass the time, he did so love that gun. "Beta and Delta squad should be here reletively soon, and that engineer. Everyone keep an out towards the doors, who knows what might follow them in..." Fiend mostly thought about that engineer. It appeared something was chasing him. But what?

Snake stood with his arms crossed, occasionally looking down the spiral staricase, completely ovetaken from boredom. A crash was heard from the othr side of the room. The whole squad immedietly turned, guns drawn to the location of the crash. They slowly moved towards the sound...

Nothing moved, the machine, whetever it was, still rattled as it eased its way to a steady stop. Out of the dark hallway, something rose from the mess, it rose higher and higher, a dark figure of some sort. It appeared humanoid, but walked strangely. It began almost limping toward them, hands almost limp at its sides.
Once it was within range of the flashlight's beam, it became clear that the figure was human. A man maybe 19 or so, bloodied up pretty good. He had cuts and claw marks ripping open the clothing and light armor that protected him here. Blood stained the footsteps. It was pvt. Tucker.

"Private!" Fiend put his wepon back into his holster as Tucker collapsed onto the ground. Tek barely caught him keeping his head off the ground. "What happened?" He asked."and how did you get these wounds?" The wounds were really bad, he had lost a lot of blood, probably justifying his fall.

"Get...get us out of here." he said almost incoherently, muttered from pain and exhaustion. "Lower levels.. they're coming.. heard you.." he wante dto sink into warm unconsiousness. It would be easier that way, but he wouldn't let himself. Tuck bit his lip and tried to stand, failing again.

Fiend commanded snake to take a sniping position facing the doorway that Private Tucker just exited. And told Torch to place charges on the ground near the door, in case of a outnumbering manuever. He then lifted Tucker off the ground and bought him over to a set of boxes he was using as a chair. He knelt down to the mans eye level, "tell me soldier, what happened?" The mans answer was cut short by a large crashing noise from the doorway. Fiend could tell from the look on Private Tuckers face that this was the creature that attacked him. A slithering noise echoed throughout the corridors, coming from not only the doorway, but from everywhere. A thousand shadows flew from one end of the room to the other. One of the creatures lunged at Torch, but was cut short by a bullet. All the other creatures fled the scene, as the body of thier dead comrade fell to the ground. A clanking noise could be heard through the door opposite of the squad. A shadow began to form, whatever it was, those creatures feared it. "Sneaky little buggers, ain't they?" The figure said as he came into sight, it was General McDavis.

Tucker closed his eyes, shuddering noticably. He was still reeling fromt he event... "They.. found us." he said simply, regaining his breath and part of his sanity. He let out a quick string of curses, looking back down the hallway. "They're hands are cold.. really really cold, like ice...But they're quick. Don't.. let'm catch ypu."
The boy winced again, grabbing his side. He slid his hands into his suit, touching the tender area that he was grabbed at; somewhere on his side beneath his arm. Returning the hand to his face, he could see stains of dark red.

"General!" Fiend said as he rose to attention, the other members of the squad followed suit. "At ease gentlemen" He said. Fiend walked over to him, "Sir, that man over there, he's a survivor. I feel somthing is out of place, I dont understand how he can survive, while the rest of the crew was massacred. Also, I have established a rendevous point, the other squads should be here soon." General Mcdavis walked over to Tucker, "Private, what in the name of the good lord happened here." Private Tucker showed signs of insanity, and he understood why, General McDavis had seen these creatures before. And must have won, due to the fact that they all scrambled out when he entered. Torch and Tek walked over to the body of the creature, "What is it?" Torch said. The creature was no bigger than waist height of a normal human, a skinny body with incredibly long arms with fingers about half the size of their body. Armed with some kind of claw device, it wasnt pertruding from the skin, but more underneath it. The face could not be seen, for it had exploded with the impact of the bullet. Snake the sharpshooter, was always in awe of the generals unwavering accuracy.

Tucker sighed. "I.. I don't know. Everything happened at once, but I wasn't anywhere near. I was in the docking bay, working.. on some ship.." he held his head, trying to remember. He looked pale, breathing slower. "Then all of a sudden, there's this huge rocking... Like we got hit or something... Lights went out and people panicked. The emergency lights never came on.. So.. So I lept out of my SCV and went to try and turn them back on.. but it's all dark and I can't find the room. "Then there's screaming.. the kind you don't forget, someone's last scream. I just.. ducked into the closest room I could, lucky for me it had a big metal door. I locked myself in," pausing again, tuck takes a deep breath. It's clear something's hurting him. "All i could hear was screaming and claws...Unearthly sounds. It died down after about.. like.. 10 or so hours.. I panicked.. I'm not a fighter.. I'm a mechanic. But I knew if I didn't do something they'd find me, or I'd starve.. So I went out with my pistol, everything seemed quiet. Maybe they didn't expect any survivors, I don't know, but i was scared to death. Thought for sure they were gonna jump out at me... I found some food and rations on a body.. I don't know who it was, lights were still out.. All i had was a flashlight. Took his radio and retreated back to my saferoom.. Then i locked myself in and sent the call..."
He looked up at the general. "Took you guys two days to respond..." he said with an annoyed and pained look.

"Boy it takes longer then an a day to get a team good enough to survive this god-forsaken fortress." General McDavis said. The General walked over to Snake and Tec, who were still staring at the body. "Sir, there is no brain." Snake said. "No there is'nt son, care to explain why?" Snake pondered, "I have no idea sir." General McDavis replied, "It is because they live under one central consciousness, a Queen, if you will." At the moment General McDavis said Queen, Fiend shivered. That screaming he heard earlier, the human. Could she have been some kind of Sacrifice to the Queen? Fiend did not want to know, all he wanted was for the other squads to get there, now.

Tuck gave the general a glare of fury and surprise. "You.. You knew about this?!" shouted the mechanic angrily, grunting afterwards and holding his side.
