The smoke was a bright red color on Kris's infrared goggles. He found the crash site. He waved to his fellow party members to come a bit closer. "There it is, I guess this is where the mission begins eh?" He said to the nearest marine.

"I guess so." Replied the marine. "You want to go first or shall I?"

"Ugh, why do they even send us out for these things..? There's never anything but heaps of slag and broken machinery... The big heads in the office just like sending us to check out things and then load us with paperwork..." complained Klayton, who was still leaning against the vehicle. It was a light recon vehicle, just some quick rover with weak machine guns mounted on it.
Regardless, the soldier moved over to go have a look. He saw the smoke rising, and pulled a bandanna over his mouth and nose. "That's the biggest thing that ever crashed here yet... What was it, some sorta battlecruiser?"

Kris pulled away his goggles as he replied, "HQ didnt have that much info on it. It's an older model of a Dectrolophine Mining Platform was all they said in the briefing, which you would know, if you paid attention". He said in a sarcastic tone. Checking his batteries on the goggles, he checked the ship again. "Yeah...it's an antique all right. Still using reverse-polarity anti-grav boosters."

"What's a junk heap like this doing just hovering around this sectors airspace?" Klayton asked, swinging his rifle over his back. Doubt he'd need it here, if anything survived this crash it'd be in no condition to fight. Any nearby animals would've run as well.

"Well...since it IS a mining platform, one would assume there were some pretty rare minerals round' these parts." Kris answered, this was just another routine mission. An old increpid ship, left behind from the Clone Wars, falls to the nearest planet since it's engine can no longer keep the darn thing airborne. Wiping a bead of sweat from his brow, he looked back to his two fellow units. "Aight, I guess it's time to go check it out..."
