I did these for a poetry project in my english class. All are a certian type of poem. Enjoy.

Memories[/glow]
Smoldered embers
Trying to catch
The shimmering opal memories
The forest of images
Snap
Birds flutter away
The stormy clouds grow darker
Crawling minutes
Pain, exasperation and loss
In my troubled heart
My eyes close tightly
All ceases

Apology for Happiness[/glow]
I am sorry
For being myself
And not being someone else
Forgive me
For reaching my goals
And leaving you to learn for yourself
I beg forgiveness
For all of the standards
That I keep and you do not
I apologize
For striving to be happy
And achieving that feat while you are miserable
I'm sorry
That I am known for getting up and serving
While you sit at home alone and morose

Happiness[/glow]
HAPPINESS is radiant yellow
It tastes like fruity candy
It sounds like laughing infants
It smells like the seaside air on a summer day
It looks like my little sister smelling the roses
Happiness feels like a comforting hug
from one you admire
[glow=red,2,300]Thistle[/glow]My best friend
Happy and loving
Smiles constantly
As caring and helpful as an angel
If only I could be as good as a friend to her
[glow=red,2,300]
Anger[/glow]
Anger is like the stormy sea
Crashing against the rocks
Beating itself
Breaking itself
Never achieving a thing
[glow=red,2,300]Young and old[/glow]Young
Happy, cheerful
Jumping, playing, laughing
Excited, energetic ?tired, bored
Sitting, sleeping, sighing
Nostalgic, unhappy
Old

Love[/glow]
Love is a wild rose
Beautiful to look at and sweet to smell
Yet must be handled carefully
Or else the poisonous thorns will prick
Love is a small child
Deliriously happy and dangerously ignorant
That must be watched as it grows
And led away from unseen mistakes
Love is a powerful chain
Capable of linking two together forever
Yet is also capable of deceiving
And bind two down in grief
Love is a lingering secret
To be kept between a close and happy couple
For if it is shared with too many others
It is a special secret no more
[glow=red,2,300]Unhappiness[/glow]Wondering what the world will wield
Gazing out the glowing glass
Bubbly birds beckon
Towering trees tremble in the breeze
I sigh sadly
I am unhappy and uncaring
My misery masks my melting smile
Money
Pleasure
Yet no heavenly happiness

There Are No Stars Tonight[/glow]
There are no stars tonight
They are hidden behind ominous clouds
The damp earth moves beneath my feet
Just as it does beneath yours
There are cries to battle in the distance
There are beautiful flowers all around
There are friends laughing gaily
But there are no stars tonight
The night closes in, her cool hand against my cheek
Her black cloak wraps around our small world
Her long black tresses block her beautiful eyes
So there are no stars tonight
The flowers are left behind
The newly-bathed earth becomes rock
The clouds roll overhead ever thicker
And there are no stars tonight
I'm with you, yet I am alone
There is a wall between us and I cannot get through
There is a pain within my soul that only you can ease
For there are no stars tonight
I touch the wall with one bare hand
It is not so hard, so I gently push
The mortar weakens, but I cannot see it
Because there are no stars tonight
The mortar is penetrated by your outstretched hand
It is an offering; a plea for comfort and love
I can only reach out and take it unseeing
For there are no stars tonight
Night's cold hand recoils from my face
As your cheek presses gently against mine
Your voice penetrates the darkness
And there are no stars tonight
You pull me close; the wall tumbles down
Your strong arms wrap about me, warming and soothing
I feel like I never will leave your side again
And I think I see a star tonight

Sunset[/glow]
The fire lowers itself
Through the blue length of heavens
Into a rippled sea of memories
To be extinguished until it ignites once more
The golden fire turns orange
And, as if a missile hit the cerulean wall,
An explosion of color bursts into sight
Temporarily dyeing the heaven's blankets
Pink, orange, red and purple
A spill of paint spreading rapidly
Surrounding the burning sphere protectively
As the light slowly, silently dims
The fire is extinguished gently
By a whispering, foaming sea
The colors begin to fade sadly
And bid the candle's light goodbye
And, as if a reassuring mother,
The light bursts forth one last time
And from those scattered rays
Are born the winking diamond stars
