Everyone gets the sensation of being stretched, pulled like taffy, then a slight burn and tingle. All that The eyes could see were blue and violet energies rushing by your helpless, prone body in waves, as if traveling through a rushing river headfirst. All of a sudden everything goes pitch black, and the feeling of solid ground returns to your feet, or whatever you happened to have landed on. After a moment, sight returns, blurry at first as the tunnel vision begins to ebb away, and you find yourself in the strangest of places...
The location seems to be a large, stone stage in the middle of a light forest. Behind you upon the stage arcs a large, half dome shape, likely to help project your voice. The wood was very light, not dense at all. Only a few trees popped up here and there around the large pond. Ducks quacked merrily around in the water amidst the reeds. However, sitting int he pond, more amazing than a few straying ducks, as a small little black stick that seemed to launch water into the air as if from the back of a whale, only it was a continuous flow.
Magus didn't seem fazed by the surroundings much, though he still peered around with an air of half-interested inquisitivity. This was an Era he'd never seen before, he almost seemed disappointed, but only for a moment. He didn't see any other people, though it seeemd to be rather early in the day, judging by the cold snap of the air and the orange sky as the sun rose just over the horizon. The grass felt wet with dew.
Aramil rubbed his body, as if making sure it was still here and completely solid. That trip felt so strange, and left him shivering a bit. It wasn't painful or bad, just weird and alien. However, his own gripes soon left his mind entirely as he took in the new world before him. His eyes azed around as if he'd never seen these things before: sky, trees, grass, ducks...
"Where are we..?" he asked...
(( Modern day, a park somewhere in california. I'll let Dark handle the details about Annie's hoime turf.))

Dark looked slightly preturbed about the uncomfortable experience of time-and-space travel, but she shook it off and looked around. This was not entirely interesting, wherever it was... just a little forest and a fountain - albiet a very different-looking fountain. She had never seen one that was so black and smooth. Her cerulean eyes scanned the park, looking for some sign of life besides small creatures. Her eyes stopped when she noticed Annie's face.
Annie looked absolutley devoid of life. At first glance one might think she was simply trying to recover from the journey, but at second glance it could be seen that the look on her face was horror of recognition. "I.... I know this place -" Her voice was very weak - almost a squeak, as it were. Her pink eyes were wide and frightened. "What day is it... why is nobody here...? There must be something going on... this looks almost the same as the day I left..."
Naburine, suddenly alert at Annie's last comment, straightened from "dusting" her leather pants - a practice she did whenever she was caught off-guard and trying to hide her discomfort. "Whoa, whoa... wait. 'Left'? This is YOUR world?" She looked around, her mask still hiding most of her face. "Kinda boring, isn't it? I can see why you left."
Annie shook her head. "No, no... usually it is really busy. This is a city park. We're in a place called California. Hollywood, California. This is really quiet."
"'Hollywood?'" Naburine snorted. "Holly is a weed, not a tree. Where did they get the name 'Hollywood?' Now, HollyVINE I could understand..."
"Shh." Annie suddenly commanded. She was looking around nervously. "My gosh, I never thought I would come back."

Aegis hit the ground on his stomach, hard too. He immediately huddled, grasping at his armor, seemingly trying to force in air through long gasps. It passed after about a minute. He got up, shifting his armor a little over, since while being thrown around it came a little loose. "So...your world eh?" He said, a curious look on his face. He seemed to lurch a bit, then turned and promptly threw up.
Raiku landed on his feet, strangely more comfortable feeling with space/time travel than he thought he would be. He quickly scanned the area for any kind of threat...Nothing but ducks. He brushed a strand of hair aside, then took a few steps over to Aegis. He looked down at him with a demeaning glace, one generally reserved for when royalty would address peasants. "Shake it off, boy."

Tion immediately rushed over to Annie's side. His mind was reeling from all the information that had just been let out. They were back in Annie's world. His face darkened and he pulled the pink haired girl into an embrace. He would not let this world have her. She was his and if it meant staying in this strange place for the rest of his life then he would. He would not be seperated from her.
Naome looked around curiously. She was quite interested in the place she had heard so many stories about. "Well, it's rather...less extravagent than I thought. Were is everyone anyway? It's dawn so you'd think that people should be up and about." The female kerath absently smoothed out the fur on her tail as she looked around some more. "Do they have a market place here? I brought lots of money for little trinkets to bring home. Thistle will kill us if we dont bring her something."

"what's that noise?" Aramil asked after the awe of the new world faded a little. "Music..." Magus replied, peering to the west a bit. it sounded like fanfare, brass and drums... Indeed, to the west there were loud thumps, cheerful trumpets, and the shrill ring of flutes amidst an occasional crash of cymbals. It sounded just like a parade.
"That might explain the absence of people around.. Lucky for us. It would be troublesome to explain our sudden appearance," remarked the blue=haired mage in his typical sullen voice.
"This is your land Annie?" Aramil asked, just noticing her dreadful expression. It was hard for him, however, to contain his excitement, so he didn't appear very empathetic to her situation, not that he understood it anyway. Shouldn't she be happy to be back for a visit?
"Hrm... So this is where you came from. That might explain why the gate took us here first... It was the most recent connection away from our world, the link must have been weaker here," monologued the mage.

Of course, Aegis didn't understand a thing. At this point he was still trying to regain his breath. But he did manage to wave Raiku away as if a fly was in the air. Raiku smirked and huffed, not rightfully caring about the boy, but wanting to show a little concern for him.
"I hear it as well." Raiku said. "Convienant for us." He loosened his spaulders a bit, and cracked his neck from side to side. "So...while your trying to figure out how we get back, I think I'm going to go for a walk." Perhaps they would not like the idea of Raiku wandering this new world, he never really was the pride of this little group. Nonetheless, he looked around for a place to conceal his armor.
Aegis coughed, then brushed his chin. He looked at the others, it seemed they were all equally in shock.
He decided it would be best to just lay low until someone decided to make a decision, it was not his place.

Annie held Tion right back, happy to have a distraction from her thoughts. She took in all of her companions' comments, nodding occasionally and shrugging sometimes as well. "It is dawn - you're right. Usually the show... er... businessmen in this place are up and going at this time, especially now that it is summer time. I wonder what that parade is all about? Oh, and Naome, I don't think your money will do anything here. Don't worry, though - I will get you some of my own money." Annie hoped her bank account was still good.
She turned to look at the group. They would definately attract attention. However, you always see weirdos walking up and down the Boulevard. They wouldn't cause TOO much of a stir... especially if they were with her. People knew her here.
As Annie opened her mouth to say something, another shockwave hit her heart, making it stand still. They were in another world - her world - and they spoke a different language. Though Common Tongue had a hint of Latin-type words in it, it certainly was not English (or Spanish...)
"Okay, you guys... we speak a different language here. Those of you who were around must remember how odd it was for me at first to try and speak to you all, and you may still notice a hint of an accent in my Common." She turned to Magus. "Is there any way that you know of that you can make communication possible for you and the rest of the party? I can communicate well enough, but you won't be able to speak."

Ace had kept quiet the whole time. In fact, since the time they had departed the Inn he had only shown signs that he even recognized anything else around him to shrug off any concerns about his attendance on the undertaking. He now stood behind everyone else, having just risen from the knee he fell on upon arrival. He wore his normal shorts and hat from before, refusing to lug around any more clothing to compensate for his lack of immunity to the cold. Though, in this place, it did not seem like he would need it.
He watched the rest of the party silently, content to keep his musings to himself.

Raiku stopped, the girl was right...Unfortunately, he had no way of communicating with the locals. Of course, he might not need to, but he didn't want to risk that. "I don't know any spells that can help us in that field. Dark Beauty, you possess abilities that can, do you not? Magus?" He turned his glance back a bit, looking at Ace, "And you? I'm not sure what your capable of..."

"I"m more practiced with destructive and protective magic, not with enchantments or things of this matter," Magus replied, bringing a gloved hand to his chin as he looked at the ground thoughtfully. "However, It's worth a try. It seems like a rather basic spell."
He began going through the motions of casting a spell, but stopped halfway through. "Something is wrong..." He held out his palm face up, and tensed it, creating a small fireball, perhaps the size of a golfball. "Something is suppressing my magic," he said, looking displased at the size of the fireball in is hand. He balled it into a fist, like one might to crumple a paper, and snuffed the flame.
Aramil looked at Magus, then tried his own power, closing his eyes as an expression of serene ccalmness overtook him. A small image appeared before him, but it flickered and seemed to struggle for it's shape, before finally dying in a display of flashing particles. "Nuh uh, I can't use my illusions either."

Naome sighed. "I wish I could use magic. Ah well. Say Annie, where do your folk usually keep their valuables? If we run out of money we will be needing some more."
Tion nodded at his sister. "That is true. From what I have heard money is not an easy thing to earn here so we might need to do some underhanded things." The twins shared a smile. "And of course that is what the two of us do best."

Annie let go of her husband - a gesture that screamed meaning. "There will be absolutely no stealing. This world is totally different than ours. No. We will use my money. I just have to get to..." how do you explain an ATM? "...my money. It will be okay." She then looked to Dark, who was looking surprised at the moment. "Is your magic suppressed, too?"
Dark nodded, her white face bewildered. "I have lived for so long and used my power for so many years... it is so odd having it be held back." She looked toward the ground. Nothing changed in her expression except for the appearance of a slight crease in her timeless face and tension in her neck. The crease deepened as her eyebrows knitted, and her hands balled into fists. Just in front of her, a few seconds later, a very small flower, about the size of a bud of baby's breath, appeared. She looked up, clearly astonished. "What is this world? It took nearly five times as much energy as usual. At this rate, there is no way I could possibly make a language spell work - it works with the brain, and that takes a lot of energy, even in our world."

Raiku's eye's widened, Magus couldn't use his magic, Dark as well? He hated being powerless, luckily he still had Erebos. But wait...He quickly pulled out his sword, it's usual dark red hue dampened and barely visible. For the first time in a good long while, Raiku had no backup plan. His blade was nothing more than just that, a sharp stabbing device. Of course, it could do him some good if it HAD to, but it was far less powerful than his magic. "It seems we have no choice then...As much as I don't enjoy the idea, if we work together we may be able to do something temporary."

Dark looked almost hesitant. "Well... I suppose that is the only way, isn't it...? All right. Do you know how to bend your will with another person's? It is not terribly difficult." Her eyes became distant as she stared into her past. "It used to be practiced all the time about four thousand years ago - but, for some reason, people became more and more independant. I really don't know why they ended the practice." She came back with a shrug. "I have become so used to being able to do so much alone that it will take me a little bit to recall the minute details, but I remember well enough."
Naburine scoffed. She did it mainly to make it seem like she did not feel awkward. She had always seen the elf-woman as the power-supply. It was disconcerting seeing Dark not be able to use magic. She wondered how those of them used to their magic - almost dependant on it - would be able to cope in a new world without it.

"I'll give it a shot. Who all is in?" Raiku glared around, demanding they reply quickly. He wanted to get this over with and never speak of it again. Granted, he knew it was going to be difficult. He had NEVER used his magic in unison with another entity before. Having trained himself his abilties, he had no master, had nothing to work off of other than his own will-power. Well, one thing Raiku had going for him was that for what little power he had here, he might have just enough influence over it the do something useful.
