Naburine nodded her brown-haired head, which gained a growl from the man across the table, which she pointedly ignored. "We will speak later about it then... but I am afraid 'as soon as possible' will have to be a little bit later... I have been traveling a lot and need to get my strength back."

"Where shall we meet then?" the exotic looking Leo asked, looking to Naburine, Nerisa, the eavesdropping elf who seemed interested:Fiona, and even a glance to Ferrel. Fiona didn't reply, likely because she hadn't any resources to count on herself, so she too looked at Naburine, but solely her.

"I dunno. Here, I suppose. I am thinking in about a week or so, if that is acceptable. Again, I have business to do."
Ferrel growled again, and said gruffly, "I going as well." There was a hint of malice in his voice and he looked at Leo as if to make a point.

"A week is not what I would consider a "quick way out of town," Leo said, frustration clear in his voice as his flowingly charming tone turned throaty and dark. He cleared his throat, placing a hand on his throat and closing his eyes. "I would rather leave no later than tomorrow night," he said, his calm and friendly side recovered. He took another drink, smiling again.

Nabruine's brown eyes grew upset, but she nodded. "Fine. More pay, though."

"I will accompany you as well. If you, and it seems you do, have trouble with gnomes I might be able to help. I've traveled with a few of them from time to time." Nerisa glanced down at the sleeping gnome on the ground at her feet. "I'll even leave him behind."

Naburine rolled her caramel eyes. "Oh, perfect. More people to weigh us down." She looked at Leo, her eyes hard after an entire conversation of flirtatious quips. It was a sobering, dangerous glare, and when she spoke, her voice was a different one entirely. "Look, Mr. Charming, I don't know what yer game is, what yer smuggling, or why ya need ta git to the capital so quickly. As yer employin' me for the job, I know it ain't my place to ask. But I can tell you this much; yer gonna tell me somfin' by the end of this night or there ain't no deal. The trip is gettin' harder by the second, an' you better have a good enough reason or big enough pocket book to make me wanna stay, r'else yer not gonna git there with this ninja-girl's famed skills."
Ferrel was looking at Naburine in a look that might have been horror. "Nabu..."
"Shut it!" she snapped, not even looking at him. He obeyed, astounded at her sudden sailor accent. "Mr. Charming here is obviously a dangerous man an' I am lettin' him know I'm a dangrous wench an' not ta be toyed with." She had not taken her eyes off of Leo the entire time. "Now then, Mr. Charming, either you kin tell me what'cha up to now, or you kin let me drag you out in ta the streets to hear it; but, oh, am I gonna hear it." Her tone spoke no-nonsense, and Ferrel was looking at her now in an appreciative but fearful way.

Nerisa's eyes narrowed at Naburine's comment of her weighing them down. She was quite capable and would not do anything of the sort. She was beginning to dislike this stupid brawny chit a lot. "Yes, well," the dark haired woman hissed icily. "We do need some brain to even out the brawn on this trip. Muscling people will only get you so far."

Leo made an audible gulp, then raised his hands, palms forward in a friendly 'i mean no harm' sort of way. "Hey,hey! I need for hoostilities, I'll tell you what you need to know," he said with a nervous grin. "And I can assure you, Lord Longtail will reward you kindly," he said, hoping that the dropping of that name would suffice for assured payment.
"Longtail... Ain't 'e some Duke from around 'ere?" asked fiona, rather interested in this now. Lord Longtail was known to use underhanded tactics to tilt odds in his favor. What's he up to this time? She emptied her hands and took a seat finally at their table. Although Longtail certainly wasn't known to be the most handsome or charming of the local nobility, he was resourceful, not unlike a mafia. Rumor had it he was connected with the thieves guild. OF course this information isn't exactly well-known, except for those who are often dealing with the criminal underworld, or the political state of the kingdom.

The woman's eyebrows had come together in an angry glare at Nerisa. "You know nothing 'bout me, chit. Shut yer mouth. I have more than jus' brawn. Bein' a ninjette requires a brain, doncha know?" Her eyebrows had then risen considerably at Lord Longtail's name. Her accent suddenly disappeared now that she was not terribly upset. "Lord Longtail? That underhanded old dog. I've worked for him before. He had better pay me my due. Fine. I will do what you want. But I will expect more of an explanation on the way. I don't trust Longtail as far as I can throw him."

"MMm yes, I can see that. You need to know who to cross and who not too. UNfortunately it seems you didn't learn that lesson very well." Nerisa looked strait at her and then pointedly looked away in dismissal. She knew it was likely to piss off the already enraged woman more and knowing that she was the one who was doing it brightened her mood considerably.

Naburine's dark hands clenched so tightly at Nerisa's impudent manner that her nails dug deep enough into her palms to start to draw blood. Instead of exploding with what she knew and how exactly she would make this chit pay for another comment like that, she said simply, "Kid, if you don't shut up, I will kill you. I am not joking, either." You could tell she wasn't, either. Ferrel, who was on the opposite side of them, got up and moved his seat, pushing Nerisa's chair over so that he could separate them. His green eyes turned to the antagonist in warning as he whispered, "You'd best stop it. I'm doing this for your own good. Please just give it a rest." He sounded rather pleading, as if he had seen the quick work Naburine was capable of and did not want to see it again. "She's under a lot of pressure right now. Just leave her alone... we can tease her later."

Nerisa looked at Ferrel for a moment and then back at Naburine. "Yes, I'm sure you could but I must warn you that I'm not exactly a pushover myself. I will give the respect I recieve. You are only getting what you dish out." She stood up abruptly and kicked Finpen over so that he woke up.
"Huh? what? No my device isnt finished yet you cant use it yet." The gnome got up bleerily only to be ordered out by a smouldering Nerisa. "Yes ma'am." he then swiftly made his way out of the tavern and off on the road again. The dark haired woman looked back at them breifly. "Goodnight. I shall be waiting when it is time to take off."

Naburine made a quick nod, but did nothing more. Ferrel shrugged apologetically, but that was all he could muster.

Fiona gave a sympathetic look to Ferrel. That man had patience in volumes. "Right... so we'll meet t'morrow arrite?" asked Fiona, trying to reduce the tension right now. She didn't feel like getting into a fight unless absolutely necessary.
Leo felt the exact same way, and nodded to her, his face solemn and business like. "Very well, I'd buy you all a drink in thanks, but it seems that with our tender incapacitated, and the brew laying either in the bellies of men or the floorboards, my gesture of thanks will have to wait. I'll see you tomorrow night," he said, satisfied, and moved to leave.
