Tai nodded his head, a bit of a worried frown still creasing his brow. "Yes, it sounds like Mother is in trouble... and if Mother is in trouble, then everyone is." Snowbird nodded as well, but she tried desperately to loose herself in the sunlight. Mother would set things straight. Mother always knew what to do...
Dark, unsure of what could be done, sat on the bar counter (which was a very unladylike thing to do... but she still managed to look sophisticated doing it) and folded her arms, her hands disappearing into the billowy folds of her sleeves. "The Pale-nea cannot be too far... the emptiness I feel is not extreme..." Her eyes took on a distant look as she called to Silvaria with her mind. Jumping down fromt the counter, she walked outside just as the enormous shape of the silver dragon emerged from the cave in the distance. The great beast landed in near the side of the tavern, so she would not demolish the little shop across the street. "You called, Dark?," Silvaria asked, her silver scales shimmering in the sunlight. "Yes." The sorceress answered aloud, though the dragon had spoken to her through thougts. "I need you to go on a little bit of a search for me." She explained quickly their situation, to which Silvaria growled angrily. "What sort of thing would have the power to steal that? Not even I could do it." "I know, and that is what worries me. Do you think you can fly above the village and the forest to see if you can see any clues as to where it might have gone?" "Of course, milady." With that, the powerful dragon launched herself into the air (after a bit of a running start). Dark sighed and put a hand to her forehead. Things were going slightly bad.

Perin watched curiously as a silver dragon came down and seemed to communicate with someone. Probably that elf.
"Silver Dragon. Supposedly the weakest of the dragons. I'm surprized to see one here of all places. You said this Pale-nea kept evil things out."
"It reminds Deekin of old master. Only Master was boy and that was girl. Boss talk Old Master into let Deekin go." The lizardish looking Koblad smiled with pride. 'Boss can do ANYTHING!"

"Generally, with rare exceptions, silver dragons are not evil," Magus remarked under his breath, if only fir his own satisfaction.
Aramil laughed as ran around in the pond (sticking to the shallows mind you). "Found one!" he shouted, submerging his head into the 3-foot deep end (making his tail rise like a periscope) snatched something metal and shiny from the earth below. With another splash and a laugh, the little elf rose abover the surface again, oohing at the object he found, which he raised in the air above his head (though it didn't levitate and spin). It seemed to be a little metal figurine of a monkey. It looked cheap, but in his eyes it was buried treasure.

Milly smiled as she heard Aramil shriek and shout happily as he found some thing or another. "I'm sure it is beautiful Aramil." she called out from where she was sitting in the grass a few feet from the edge of the pond. "Snowbird, Tai, how are you comming along?"
~~~
Melody quietly came through the kitchen door with a very large tray filled with 'munchies'. "Zese are in case any of you are hungry." The nymph shot a glance at Perin and shivered. Where Magus absolutely terrified her, the guest sent shivers up her spine and made her black hair stand on end.
"Enjoy." Setting the tray down as far away from Perin and Magus as she could, without seeming to do so on purpose, Melody took one last nervous glance around the room and then scampered off into the kitchen.
Dark thanked Melody as she went out, but did not take anything. She turned to Perin. "Silver dragons are not evil, for the most part, and they are most definately not the weakest. Silvaria is one of the most powerful dragons that I have ever met, and that is saying quite a lot."
Tai walked to his adopted sister and sat down, while Snowbird walked to Aramil, trying to see what it was he had found. "We're doing just fine," Tai commented. "It would seem that we are in a bit of trouble as a whole, however. What do you make of it?"
"It is unfortunate but we will ber fine." Milly stated folding her hands in her lap. "I am slightly irked that Mother did not tell me of this secret. And I dont know what to make of those strangers. They had strange auras."
Tai nodded in agreement to all of her comments. "Yes, I am also slightly thrown by it all. Both Snowbird and I had no idea about this long lost lover of hers either... it feels... odd."
Aramil bit his tongue while concentrating on the little silver figurine. It levitated in the air, and began spinning, leaping from hand to hand while glowing various colors. He'd be grinning his head off were it not for his concentration face.
Magus eyed the halfling and the kobold carefully with a judging "I don't like you" sort of gaze. It wasn't anything personal, he didn't like most people he didn't know yet.
"Realise then that strangers may not get the most grateful welcome, as everyone will likely be on edge. If you aren't watching your own actions, be aware that everyone else will be watching yours," he told them flatly, looking to Shivelle with that "Are we done here?" expression.
Perin smirked. "But of course. Only realize that you will be under the same scrutiny yourself. Don't take it personally but I trust you lot about as much as you trust me."
Deekin sighed. "Boss, Deekin be hungry. Methinks we should eat soon."
~~~
Milly nodded in agreement but didnt say any more. She really wanted to know what was oging on in the tavern while they were sitting there peacefully by the pond.

Shivelle shrugged slightly at the look Magus gave her, returning it playfully. Just then, Dark walked back into the tavern, a look of exhausted worry on her face. Running a hand through her raven-black tresses, the sorceress faced those in the tavern. "Silvaria has told me through our mental link that she thinks that she has found the location that the thief went. He seems to be headed southwest, toward the midland of our continent. Unfortunately, whoever it was did a fantastic job covering his or her tracks. Silvaria is also convinced that it is a humanoid creature, not a magical one." Sighing, she crossed to a chair and sat down, her back still straight even through all of her stress out of habit. "I will leave tomorrow in pursuit of this thing. I need the Pale-nea. It has become part of me, and its power is too great to let slip. If you wish to accompany me, you may. The children will have to stay here with guardians... as much as I hate to leave them, I have no choice."

"Off on another whirlwind adventure..?" Magus said, half annoyed, half interested. If something was strong enough to do this, he must know equally powerful magic. Perhaps, with the great risk, there's a worthwhile reward for him at the end. And getting it back would certainly reduce the nuisance and unsavory characters coming to interrupt him.
"Tomorrow is rather soon, but i understand time is of the essence, we don't want to lose the thief. Make any prepaarations you may need at the emporium, though now without the elf running it that girl will likely charge you an arm, a leg, and whatever else you have to barter."
"How come you all aren't playing..?" Aramil asked a while later, finally noticing he was the only one frolicking in the water.

"You know I cant play near the water Aramil." Mily reminded him. "Or anything else really. Mostly just puzzles and riddles, and I'm not very good at those."
Perin nodded and hopped off the chair she was standing on. "Well then, we shall need a room for the night if that is the case." The halfling pulled out a rather plump bag that jingled.
Thistle whistled. "You must be one good adventurer. Where did you get all that?"
"I own chain of breweries." She replied looking at the pixie curiously. Thistle looked delighted at this revelation until she noticed Perin looking at her funny.
"What have you never seen one of us before?" She demanded.
"No, I have. They usually just attack me though. I had to go through a whole slew of them in the underdark. Annoying little things." The pixie gasped and looked utterly offended.
"Deekin agrees with Boss. The dust makes Deekin's nose go all crazy."

Dark smiled slightly at the offended Thistle, but turned to face Magus afterward with a straight face. "Naburine will give me what I want... she know better by now than to resist me. I'll give her something just to make her happy, but she has finally began to realize that she does not actually need money now." Her brow furrowed slightly as she thought. "Tomorrow is rather soon... but, no. It is NOT some 'whirlwind' adventure. This is essensial to the saftey of the village and, if it is in the wrong hands, the entire world." Turning away, she muttered, "Not to mention my own life..."
Snowbird shook her head with a smile at Aramil, and then she gathered up her white dress, tying it with her babyblue waistband. She waded into the cool water, and looked at the little elfling. "There. Are you happy now, Aramil?"

"Call it what you will, I may as well go. I'll be needing some reagents for a few rituals anyway.. I have some interesting plans I'd like to discuss with you sometime when this difficulty is passed," He looked to Shivelle, wondering if she would be going or staying. Frankly, being as far away from the horrid voice of the kobold would be reason enough to go.
Aramil stood up in the water, holding the little figurine to his chest. "I don't know.. Aren't you happy?" he asked, giving her an almost caring look of seriousness.

Snowbird laughed, patting Aramil on the head. "Yes, Aramil... when you are happy, I am happy as well." Over on the shore, Tai rolled his eyes and smiled.
Shivelle looked to Magus, her look answering his with something that read: Like heck am I staying here when you're going.
