"Ya know he is really creepy." Tion noted as he watched Magus.
"Very." Bartholomew agreed and went back to watching the sides of the road.

*The mage took no notice, his blue hair billowing softly in the slight breeze as he continued drifting along the road.*
"We'll need lodging..." he said after quite a while. "Either wait at the next town over, or set up camp when we need to, but it will not be safe to continue walking during nightfall.. and some need their rest."

"A camp I can make ye. But lodging is easier...there's ale too...mmmm..." The dwarf smiled at the thought then shook his head. "But the dragon first!"

"The dragon flies at a much greater speed than we can walk.. especially with dwarves, and other much smaller creatures slowing us down." the mage said, eyeing all the non-humans and non-elves. "It's likely off back to its lair already, we don't know how far away that is. I can possibly scry the location if it hasnt warded it's lair from scrying eyes. Night will fall within a few more hours, and I dont want to be slowed down by bandits, and other unsavory surprises.."

Tion scowled. "I resent that comment." Cessily stifled a giggle when she heard him say that and grinned widely when he dropped back to walk with Annie.

Annie smiles at her new companion. She looks up at the mage. "I know a little about the surrounding area, and there is a very small village about a league from here with a nice inn. I think it would suffice."

*magus looked down at Annie, no real expression at all, but he nodded at her statement.* "That's likely our best bet."

Annie hissed a warning to Khorg and smiled as sweetly as she could at the mage. "Okay. Let's get on our way, then."

*Magus nodded once more to the girl, then slowed his pace so that she could lead the way, once again walking on foot.*

And with all this exitement, the party never noticed the cloaked figure standing in the shadows, his sword drawn...

The blue haired mage stopped dead in his tracks, smirking. He tugged at the base of his leather gloves to make sure they were on snugly. He snickered, and teleported in front of the party, only about ten feet from where he was standing before, still facing the road ahead. "Behind us." said the pale blue-haired man with an air of confidence. He turned around and used his cloak almost as a shield to hide his face, then threw it behind his back, letting the wind catch the purple fabric.
His leather gloved hands grasping the scythe tightly, and almost immediatly he jumped to his left off the road into the grass, his feet spaced in a battle stance, and firmly planted in the soil. Magus glared death at the man with the drawn weapon, as if daring him to try. Judging by the warrior's stance, it was clear magus had been trained very well in combat.
The tip of the scythe cleamed in the reddening light of the sunset, the dangerous looking bladed head pointing to the bandit.

((Oh I dunno my charies are pretty unobservative))
Tion patted the dwarf's shoulder. " feel the same way my friend."

Then the intruder, as if amused, smiled at the gesture. Then disapeared right before their eyes. By means unknown. Then the party couldn't help but feel as if they were not yet alone (They were right from a certain point of view, as the hairs on the back their necks rose). But the presents was not of that of the physical but more of the unseen nature... And then the dark presents departed.
What power this dark individual possesed was unkown to them... But yet strangely familiar. Yet it seemed to be a magic, possibly one of a demonic nature...
Most if not all of the party members hoped that this would be their last incounter. But few hoped they would meet again. It was a matter of pride as well as ego.

"Sissy." Tesshu said bluntly as he clapped his enchanted warhammer onto his back. "Seems like the typical scare and run tactics children use.
