"But I'm an elf," he replied with a smile, not trying to be a wise-guy, just making a joke. He took the napkin and wiped his face when he was finished consuming, getting most of it in the first try, second after having it pointed out he missed that spot alongside the mouth just under the lips. ( I swear that cursed spot is terrible, i once got an entire piece of popcorn stuck there...) "So what to do today..." he remarked to himself, hoping to suddenly be presented with a pile of potential and desirable options...

"Well, you could eat your veggies and then I can finally make that cake I promised before we were bombarded by newcomers." Dark grinned. "I don't mean any offense by that, Jaryd."

Ashlyn silently crept down the stairs and bowed to Dark. "Good Morning ma'am. Thank you for allowing me to stay. I deeply appriciate it."

Dark smiled at the demon girl. "It is not a problem at all, dear girl. Is there anything I can get for you?"

"I am not sure. I have no where to go ma'am, I think that I am the one that should be asking that question to you."

Dark shook her head. "No. Everything I need is here with me in this village. You can stay here as long as you like... we seem to be growing rapidly. Almost everyone who lives in this village has a permanent room here in the tavern - Naburine, the ninja girl, actually lives here."

"We should make houses!" Aramil suggested with a mouthful of food. Gimble took that time to fly down, landing on the boy's head less than softly, and standing on it like a platform. His little way of saying "don't talk with your mouth full."
"Aye, An' we'd make a pretty bundle onnit too, tha' is if they e'en 'ave coin!" he said thoughtfully, looking to Dark, but not really directly at her. His mind seemed to be on the soobject. "P'raps it wooldn't e'en be tha' toof, what with yer hiddlin's and majicks." remarked the ignorant sprite.

Dark nodded, actually listening to the little orange being. "I thought about it, actually. A village usually has more than two cottages and two castles as actual permanent dwellings. I would like to make houses for everyone... but it would be difficult if we did not get everyone together. What with Rikimaru and his brother gone, we'll have some problems getting the men together to help." Her face momentarily flickered sadness at the mention of her husband's name, but she lost that look almost as soon as it came.

Ashlyn caught the brief look of sadness on the beautiful woman's face and quickly decided not to ask about the father of her children. "I would gladly help with anything I can. Now if you will excuse me ma'am, I am going to go walk outside. Is there any possible game to be hunted around here?"
Tumbleweed rocked back and forth on her bottom, holding her legs as she observed the kind of stage that Aramil's head seemed to become. that looks like fun. she thought to herself.

The sorceress nodded. "Yes, there is quite a lot of game located in the forest just northwest of Shivelle's tower. Cheyenne would not appreciate anyone hunting in her forest east of here; you can hunt in the other forest without any problem. I don't think Shivelle will be out today."

"Thank you Madam." Ashlyn bowed and silently weaved her way around the tables and out the door.

Aramil shoved himself out of the chair, but he seemed to miss his step and both he and the chair fell flat on their sides. After affirming to everyone that he remained uninjured, the boy stood up, brushed himself off, and forgot entirely about the chair. He decided to go upstairs to get dressed, or at least get some breeches on.
After a while he headed back down the stairs, dressed in his typical tan breeches, and a slightly-feminine looking blue tunic. He cheerfully wandered out the doorway. "Oh what shall I do today.." he said in a sing-song tone, looking around at the glowing horizon with a smile. Without waiting for an answer from the universe he smiled and ran off, running just fast enough to let the wind blow through his hair as he bathed int he warmth of the rising sun.

((This thread sure stays alive for long periods of time doesn't it?))
Tumbleweed looked around, confused that Gimblefire had been sitting on Aramil's head before the elf boy had fallen flat on his face and that he had quite suddenly dissapeared from before them.

(( Sure does! )) "Fpthpf! OY LAD, HOLD IT!" boomed the familiarly angry tone of Gimblefyre at an unbelievable volume. It sounded as if the voice belonged to a giant or a dragon looming just over the tavern. By sheer shock rather than choice Aramil stopped right in his tracks, eyes wide and pointy ears ringing.
It was then that the boy finally noticed the slight tug in his hair. Gimble seemed to be wrestling with several knots of golden blonde tethers, which bound him tight to Aramil's cranium. "Ye pork-chewin' bug-swallowin' bigjob! Help me oot here!" Gimble finally said after a string or two of alien curses. Having regained his composure (though his heart still palpitated like crazy), Aramil deftly reached his hands up to the crown of his head, discovering that, indeed, he seemed to be imprisoning the little fae in his mess of bedhair. So this is why brushing is important... At least it wasn't a bird or a squirrel.

There was a bout of ringing, hearty laughter from behind as Sugarplum absolutely lost it at the sight before her, and Fizzle trying hard to keep herself from bursting as she held her laughter in. Dark, who wondered at the commotion, had come out of the tavern, saw the scene, and shook her head, smiling and chuckling. "Once you get poor Gimblefyre out of that rat's nest of golden locks, why don't you let me brush your hair for once, Aramil? I'll use my magic so that it doesn't hurt... just this once."
Sugarplum stopped laughing and her big blue eyes became frighteningly larger. "Oooh! Aye, tha' be a right wundrus deal there, laddie! Best take 'er up on tha'!"
